Hello!

It would be interesting if you amazon players could list your best bowazon equipment below. I am specificly in thirst of knowledge about reasonably realistic equipment standards. I.E perhaps not a 3 socket helm with 120ED and 45 IAS. Please also mention sockets in possible items.

Additionally, I'd like to get an up to date guide for bow amazons in general.

You should find a variety of gear choices for pvm and pvp.

Well i focus in guided arrow, valk, strafe, and avoiding skills mainly.

yes, quite a nice guide there :) it all depends what you want from your char. I am building my amazon at the moment to deal with uber tristram AND to pvp. this is the gear I am slowly chasing.

bow-I have perf grand matron bow faith 15%ed +3bow skills prior to r/w

armor - fortitude archon plate. I think I will take guardian angel(um) against the ubers though, 90 all resists helps alot

helm - for pvp ed/ias or a 45%ias helm (with life if you can afford it but these are expensive) - for the ubers I really aint decided yet, I am considering CoA(Ber, Ber) - since without LoH gloves I wont hit 7fpa

amulet - cats eye -Atmas is nice but i dont want amp magic proccing ull see why in a minute

raven frost ringx1

manald heal ringx1 - needed for mana leach, a rare of course will beat this
gore rider boots - crushing blow/open wounds - needed if you seriosly want to take on uber bosses

Nos belt - I need 10%Ias, this also adds slow target/strength and life leach

Draculs Grasp/Laying of hands gloves - will need LoH for pvp to hit the magical 7fpa attack speed, but for ubers need dracul's life leach, which is exactly why I dont want atma's because me and merc+ valk need life leach to stay alive against ubers

charms - 5res all SC 15res all GC to take you resists up to max and then max/AR/frw charms until (this I havent decided on yet atm) the diminishing returns on run/walk become too big then change run/walk for life

weapon switch cta+spirit(if you have the strength otherwise lidless, dont gimp your dex just for spirit) - I happen to have alot of strenght because when i built my char origonally I had zero gear and zero stuff to trade so kinda needed 134str so i would have been able to equip wf, now I have faith torch anni, nos and soon draculs so If I rebuilt I could lower my strength alot.

you should be aimeing for around 1000life 75(or90) all resists without a single point in vit

without this I find gloams basically 1 shot me, which aint pleasent, and pvp you get 1 shotted. Damage without merc should be around 5k

Merc, for pvp I like an act1 merc with harmony bow fortitude armor and ed/ias helm gives her the fatest attack speed if harmony is made in a v fast bow(I use a great bow) - harmony vigor is a massive run speed boost and allows you more charms with life = great news

for the ubers I am going to be taking a normal mode act2 defensive merc.

he is going to wear tomb reaver(eth hopefully) with 3xBer in (60%crushing blow - crushing needed for uber bosses because it is a % of their hp gone and its twice as affective for melee than it is for you shooting at range)

armor - Guradian angel eth upgraded with um rune

helm- CoA 2xBer

that list is still a work in progress for me so there might well be some improvements.

No! to coa on a bowa. The monstrous 174 str req for it isn't right for a weedy armed bowy, don't think it'd help much anyway

hmm gd point :/ I just cant decide what to choose whats best against ubers :( although now since I had high base str I can easily get the 174 str lol but that is just my bad planning, not realising id be wearing a perfect faith within a week of starting again :/ lol

im waiting on making my ed/ias helm till I can get a good 3 socket helm with 80+life :/ which is going to take a while hoping for something else to take me to the ubers.

any ideas?

I just wouldn't take a bowy into uber trist. Chances are bowys will just crumble at the sight of phys immune minions, let alone elemental onslaughts whilst conviction being active to boot.

SD did uber trist with a bowy, but that's because he has mental health issues when it comes to d2 :laugh:

Reading your post before, guardian angel? do you have 300+ resists to maintain 90 res all in the first place? (talking about mephs convic) if you do on a bowy you'll have hideous attack speed and therefore wont set lifetap off quick enough unless you use a 'tap wand.

Fath just won't damage enough without a large amount of nerfed crushing blow due to ranged attacks. And even if you do pwn off the 3 ubers you'll still be swarmed with minions and with nothing to leech off you'll probably just drop right there.

Bjorgin I aint saying its gonna be easy just my aim :) its good to have goals and any normal mob/boss just doesnt pose a threat, even uber diablo was no trouble back in 1.10.

Now I am back and looking for a challenge.

mephis conviction certainly is an issue, not sure exaclty how I will combat this, any idea how much -resist it is? -150 or something?

physical immune mobs atm are no problem, all you need is a little elemental damage easily obtainable.

I wont go there with slower than 8fpa really(which yes means I need around 16%ias or something on my helm) and yes crushing blow is terrible on ranged attacks, hoping my merc will survive enough to get a couple of hits off hence why the bers in his weapon for v high crushing chance.

and faith is our only option :P windforce might offer more damage for mid range but doesnt compare to faith for this kind of fight and the only other option is some bizarely epic rare and I have never ever seen 1 in alot of playing and trading, so I aint holding my breath.

I am never going to create a paladin again, a terribly boring class, been there tried them, smiter, hammerdin and LoH pala.

I always enjoyed bowzons so decided to make 1 with the aim of dealing with uber tristram and pvping :) hence why no strafe, strafe lock in that place would be basically instant death, and strafe in pvp is also useless. strafe is only good at killing normal mobs and even then multi works better in most situations, plus multi only needs 1 point freeing up alot of other choices

my goal is 5k damage, 1khp as much +resist(at least +190(ie 90 all resists withouyt convic aura) as I can get, uber hard merc+uber hard valk(yes I realise both will probably die but hopeing not 1 shotted, maybe even life tap can keep them up if im lucky.

its gonna be fun :) I cant wait, only been back 1 week so my gear aint sorted yet hehe, but slowly getting there.

hmm, possibly.

I am also thinking kira's until mephi is down, then switch to something like Face of horrors.

I am just hoping its as hard as every1 keeps saying :) I will be severly disapointed if they die 1st try.

Probably gonna fraps it and stick it on youtube (so long as it goes well)

stocked up on full rejuvs already hehe :) 1 mule char full of them, will take 1 row super hp 1 row super mana and 2 rows full rejiv. Nywayz still alot of expensive items to get :/ namely the resist all charms, Crown of ages and tombe reaver + the bers

Use atma's for the amp dmg proc.

Cat's i use on my bowy, it's just about ideal...

Highlords is okay, but i still don't use it for some reason, all it's got going is 20 DS and a bit of light res.
