hi, well making a new bowzon for a mixture of pvp and attempting fun things like uber tristram.

Now I have guided arrow max, and critical/dodge/evade/avoid all at lvl12(past this they start suffering sever diminishing returns)

so am unsure where to go, there is of course the choice of strafe/multi shot, or I was thinking maybe valk+possibly synergies.

I cant remember how viable valk is at higher lvls so was hopeing for some guidance. Please dont link me back to my own old guide :P this is for pure pvp and i want a semi hybrid

for baal runs etc I believe if i just buy a few random skillers cobined with anni and torch multi will be more than suitable

so I am inclined to get myself a nice valk, what do you guys think?

please help me decide :) is a lvl 20 valk worth it? and is it worth putting points in decoy. I am lvl 85 now so can get lvl20 valk and still have 14 free skill points(at 99 probs get bored at around 97 though lol), which I also need help placeing.

if you want a hybride, then why not go for the poison route? Even if you don't specialize in poison, you can still dug out nice damage if have a 4 sock rbf shield. Note that valk and decoy are close to useless in pvp.

If you don't want this, you can always go with lightning fury for pvm part, or poison for pvm. though non of these will be super powerful in ubertrist. Poison might be you best bet. Both for pvp as for uber. the monster reg is huge in uber trist they say.

However, I would go with a valk, though for uber trist, I'm afraid that you have to go full valk or no valk. A low level valk will probably be one hit killed by the uber tree, and a decoy from a low life amazon will go down even faster. If you can get your valk up high, from prebuff and put bo from cta, you valk will be a super tank, probably even made for uber trist.

If you want to know how other bowazons did in uber trist I can be short. Both mephisto and Lillith destroyed them, though the other are not that much of a problem. Have a look at the sticky, I'm sure some one has put his experience in a thread.

yes, iv read that, set myself the challenge of soloing the place as a bowzon, after all I used to be pro :P

poisen=boring
java=farming baal uber fast

neither of which im making this char for :P

and I know valk is useless in pvp, walks too slow and low damage comparably

I also know If i am going to spec valk then I should go all the way, but how about with the extra life decoy gives too? to be honest I am very tempted :) hehe it sounds fun to have an uber hard valk and something I havent experienced properly before (btw my only + skills will be from cta, anni and torch)

Then ask your self this question, where would I want to have point in besides valk? no poison nor lightning, no cold either I guess. The passives are where you want them. The only things to have benifite are pierce, penetrate, low ar to valk or decoy. As guided arrow doesn't pierce, and penetrate isn't the usefull with faith, I'd go with decoy. even if it only stands for a few frames, it might get you prebuffed valk where it should be.
So yes, I would put point in decoy as synergy and as usefull skill on its own.

P.S. don't forget one point in freezing arrow.
P.P.S. what bow are you using? No faith cause faith give + skill. so perhaps penetrate might be a good idea to boost up your own ar and that of your valk.

meh...you used to be pro, eh?

Not certain what that means, but Valk and Decoy are useless to a dueler.

Besides, Valks are only useful at level 17 or 27 -- at 17 they spawn their rare warpike and can start to deal real damage. All of their other gear gets replaced with rare upgrades up to level 27. If you're PvM then THESE are the two levels to shoot for. Anything between those two levels just seems...unreasonable, but that's just me.

As to your bowa -- if you're really building a hybrid then a) stay away from Guided. It has been nerfed pretty roughly. Some folks still use it. But I would say you should opt for a mixture of Strafe/Frozen Arrow/Magic Arrow.

My bowa is the only character I have that I feel comfortable dropping into ANY situation. She is highly versatile.

Slap a Pride merc on her and watch her walk through the Chaos Sanctuary like she had a rocket strapped to her ***.

Bowas are unique in that they can readily deal at least three types of damage: Physical w/ Strafe, Magic with MA, and Cold with FA.

But that's just my opinion. And, of course, the debate over Strafe vs. Multishot rages eternally. Me, I go with Strafe. Yeah, strafelock can be a problem, but I feel much safer knowing that EVERY arrow I shoot has a chance to proc something as opposed to only the two in the center of the spread.

That's just my opinion.

If you're looking to make some kind of hybrid bowa then your best option, in my opinion, would be to start looking at something like an Immo/FA zon -- but that's difficult to do effectively, and quite honestly, the Fire Tree is the pits, imho.

Just a few ideas...

AIglos? wat? lol

1. I say this isnt pure pvp, I know valk sucks in duels it just never gets a chance to do anything, but for pvp all you need is 12 d/e/a/critical +max guided, so this leaves alot of free points

2.ye those are the gear points for valk :) guess ill get 1 passive skiller to get 27, although tbh am thinking of getting more so that she can stand up to uber bosses in the pandemonium events

3. guided arrows is a very nice ability, far better than strafe for dealing with big bad bosses. tbh iv never been a fan of strafe too dangergous for 1. and too slow at clearing mobs for a 2nd.

4.1point in multi/frozen is enuf, they get their job done then

5.yup making a pride merc now will be getting a 15%ED eth Colosus volouge this week for it and hopefully runes soon after.

6.my attacks have around 3 or 4 elements on them atm from my gear immunes are no problem at all, just a shame no draining on phys immunes :(

7.strafe vs multi, I like multi :) much faster at farming low areas, and 1 point is all you need :P I have +12 bow skills atm accross my gear(inc +all skills) so that gives as much spread of arrows as you will ever need

and an immolation arrow zon, never tried 1 doesnt sound very effective though
