View Full Version : Chantedzealot build?
My friend has a 'loader' I see quite some ppl use it to get BO on their lamerdins. Yes, I mean Hammerdins.
Anyway.
It will require 2comps :]
I would need to build 2 chars....
1 sorc with 2soj, +2amu +2sorc+3enchant staff, tarn, magefist and silks.
I only got 1soj though, but no matter.
Now to build my paladin will only require a few skill points.
Get I'd get:
20 in Conviction.
20 HS
I wouldnt even need more. Since I can just shop a 40ias +1-3zeal sceptor easily.
I could pump probably all my points in life, since chant will gimme loads of ar and convictions rapes defense anyways... and zeal doesn't cost much mana does it?
I'm guessing The level 31 (lvl 32 if i get another soj) enchant would hurt big time with 5hits a second?
Or how ever fast it will be with conviction will hurt bigtime. What you think?
a) you don't need loader - a cheap 2nd pc, and an even cheaper legit copy of the game will work just fine, and still allow for discussions on this board
b) I see folks using chant from mld to high level duels - I usually see a chanter hiding/idling in kurast on the way to the jungle as their favorite place to chant whilst I'm mephy glitching. many BvB's use a chant to get the AR, and then use min dmg rings, and/or +2/Life ammys
c) I always assumed zealots were more capable with frost aura to slow down those fleeing. conviction is an interesting choice however, and may help break someone's rez, if they're using hot spurs, nozokan and/or darkglow...

I'd have lots and lots of skill points left to get HF or even make it a FoHer...
If I want to use it for pvp and i need to catch them.
I just shopped a 40ias +2pala crystal sword. I have not looked at ias tables yet though. :)
Goomba, what's mephy glitching? StaMpu, that sounds very viable, although, as Goomba said, I agree, get a cheap second PC and another cheap legit copy of the game.
I got a 2nd key, just not a 2nd comp, well its 1 level lower. And I'm a lazy gamer obviously. I don't feel like climbing stairs every game :o

this forum does not subscribe to hacks/modifications of the game. generally speaking, loader's use a hacked, or modified .dll file to work on a 2nd copy of the game.
that being said, there are tools, such as daemon-tools that reportedly have been used by some on this forum to get two legally purchased/owned copies of the game running from the same pc.
as for me, I have an old laptop sitting next to the desktop that works just fine, and doesn't involve climbing stairs :wave:

ya, a loader is a 3pp, and blizzard bans for any 3pp. i also got banned for "advocating the use of a third party program" when i made a guide on how to run a loader ;)

there are other ways, legally to use server operating systems to invoke a virtual desktop and 2nd instance of the program on a single pc as well, but that is way beyond the scope of most 13 yr old D2 player's understanding.
Dacar and I bantered a bit on such a discussion about a year ago, in which he did some heavy (and misguided) editing of my posts, where I was misunderstood to advocate using misappropriated cd-keys.
I reiterate, I own and possess all 3 cd keys at my current disposal, and all are legit. I have also experimented with 3pp's a bit to understand how they work, but generally find that they are more of a PITA than just using the laptop for purposes such as chanting or Bo-ing, or transferring, or even self-rushing.

I just didn't think a loader would matter, 2comps is basicly same ****, less power needed... Gotta think of that too ;D

Indeed advocating a obvious 3rd party program(read: hack) does get you a temp ban and a mark on your record.
As for the idea, if you use it for PvP you might aswell do lld with a chanted char.

I think a llder with chant is cheating... You guys wouldn't cheat now would you?
It was just a different pvm idea, and maybe to kick pkers/annoying kids ***.
Actually, to my knowledge, the guy who writes D2loader actually tells Blizzard of them and Blizzard can easily detect the use of it, they just don't care about the loader since you still need legit cd keys and it doesn't actually do anything except make it possible to run the game without cd and have multiple copies running on different keys...
This is all providing my sources on the matter are correct, which they might not be...

OK, updated your guide. Me, I find it an interesting idea. I allways like 'off' builds, but more for PvM. My next project will be a Bec-de-Corbin Zealer.
You could also consider making a venger, they are fun to play and if you wear Iratha's, you could hit 95/95/95/75 res in Hell. :)
Wonder if a 2 handed venger would be amusing. Might be dangerous since you'd be lacking block.

Just checked the speedcalc and I could use the 256 damage/30ias Bec to make a 2 handed Venger.
I'd make 2 attacks per seconds wearing deaths combo. (58ias is the 12fpa bp)
Any thoughts on how horribly wrong that will go ? I'm relatively sure the damage will be nice though. :)
That's cool, but I just really really hate the poor poor crowd control of vengeance. Sure you could get 1hit kills, or maybe 2hit kills. But you have to target a new target over and over and over again. Bores me quite fast!

Indeed that is what worries me aswel.
Though the same could be said for a Ench/bow/conviction din. They have a hard time controlling the crowds. Offcourse a bowdin could have it easier when using Blind, though that does not stop monsters for long in Hell.
I guess we should simply see that as one of the more chalenging aspects of these types of characters. :)
If we didn't want a chalenge we'd all be making hammerdins.
That's why you have Sanctuary though. Flash it; knocks back undead, since 50% of choas is undead (even super unique Undead Monsters)... and with a bow u can get explosive or pierce...
So I just really dislike vengeance, since it ALSO needs lots of synergies + conviction to make it work.
Point: A challenge still has to be amusing. Vengeance aint, it just stinks!
