merc armor ethereal or upgraded?

ok, my sorc is now lvl80 and so can start getting me some good items :P.

to get ready for farming hell baal I need to kit my merc out to the max. this is the gear I think ill aim for


eth bonehew wih 2xamn
shaftstop(eth or upgraded?) - unsure on gem yet
gaze(again eth or upgraded?) - also unsure on gem

from what I remember when you upgrade an item it doesnt retain its ewtheral bonus. Is this still true in 1.11? if so, which do I go for?

also I cant remember what the maximum damager reduction is? is it 50 or 75%?(ie I am trying to decided um or ber in the armor)

was well anoying back when I used to play when they introduced that and I upograded my mers ether shaft and gaze to see barely any difference lol

ah 50% :) cheers, it rings a bell them nerfing it from 75% back in 1.10 i think or something - gaze+shaft will sort that for me :) lol

if your ladder, ever thought about

the insight runeword in an eth poleaxe. the meditation aura is very helpful.

the fortitude runeword in an eth armor. the 200% enh def and 300% enh dam are very nice bonuses.
