well, I have my axer now to lvl 78. for giggles, I started using gnasher, and sb in the CS, and found, I'm pretty much immune to IM due to the gnasher's very low lvl of physical damage. (I haven't xferred over the boneflesh yet).

however, I also have found, that I must not be high enough level to cause the monsters to bleed out rapidly enough.

trying to decide if I should use boneflesh, and a nice rezzy grim shield with the gnasher, or stick to gskin and SB/Gnasher for the bleed. I will be experimenting more and more, cause hey, that's what I do... :grin:

ultimate goal - a moderately capable axer/naga barb, with not quite maxed shout, and a decent stomp when wearing bo sticks and tarn to assist in CSing.

and yes, I can hear ray groaning already, but I have another 6 socket naga that I'm going to experiment with as well... I so love painting things green...

that's pretty much the build I intend to eventually go with - the armor / shield combo is up in the air tho. already with gnasher/sb it adds up t 100% chance to bleed em...

it worked well enough for me to take out de seis fairly quickly in a series of noobish cs runs. :shocked:

I'm fairly certain I won't try raiding with this setup tho...

rcage for csin? I don't want them running away... and crushing blow on 16 dmg or whatever it is from the gnasher isn't likely to do much :laugh:

he's still a lord... and surprisingly enough, keeps getting the last hit when I go zerking in the cs games judging by the flow of rares that fall that I keep missing :laugh: :shocked: :laugh:

You could use Goblins to get Crushing Blow without the monsters running for the hills. CB takes up to a quarter of the target's current life depending on the monster. It does not depend on the physical damage of your weapon.

How do you keep up your mana though ? Do you keep potting ?

o.O I guess I misunderstood crushing blow.

as for mana, I have been whirlwinding through the cs and relying upon the leach gloves/ring I have on (only using one angellic ring and the ammy for AR)

I only used the zerk on D, so I have a chance at getting the aforementioned drops.

my thought/plan of attack had been to get a decent level stomp, so I can WW through the crowds then stomp them whilst they bleed. Rinse, lather, and repeat.

one of the things that has always somewhat frustrated Ray, with the way I biuld characters, is I tend to not make any of the "pure" builds - I llike being a generalist. So, this "BvA" Naga Build, that currently doesn't have the GG Naga, will not have maxed shout, rather I'm investing roughly a 50/50 split between shout and stomp...

Toss silks, tarn, +2 ammy and bo sticks on, and suddenly I have a very effective stomp (which I'm still learning to actually use effectively) :laugh:

another example: even my last orber passed on the max teleport, and instead has a 1400 dmg ice blast to go with the orb...

wait. is crushing blow returned via IM ? if so, I'm pretty sure I don't want any part of that...

but, after rethinking, the scatter effect might also not be so bad, so long as they bleed whilst they run...

Crushing blow is not returned trough IM. So a 1 damage weapon(fists) with 100% crushing blow which allways hits combined with bleed to get rid of that last drop of the monster's life is the safest way to cruise CS with a melee char. Even though the bleed can do nice damage, I wouldn't count on being able to kill monsters with just bleed. You need CB to get rid of large chunks of life.

you can kill weaker BvBs with just your fists with swordback + goblins

level 90s are hard to hit (due to the level difference and perhaps high defense) and can do it to say level 60 barbs

hrm... gnasher plus bone flesh plus crushflange perhaps (doesn't that add crushing blow) all with low physical damage...

keep in mind, i'm just messing around whilst levelling this guy to what will eventually be a naga BvA if I ever get my hands on (and keep) a gg naga
