View Full Version : What sorc fits tal's best?
I just found Tal Rasha's something-or-other (the orb) with +2 to all masteries...
Now, of course, I'd like a sorc to go with that...
which one would fit best?
I would like to note that I intend to only give her equipment I found myself, so the odds of my getting an infinity for her (or her merc) any time soone are slightly smaller than the odds of me winning the lottery...
Let alone finding a pair of SoJs...
Check out 'The Truth About Tal's Set' in the Sorc stickies as it will give you everything you need to know...i'd say a Meteorb would suit full Tal's dude, do you have means to trade? Belt and Helm you can get for pgems but the amulet and armour? If you are sticking to just finding them then good luck...
Well, actually, I already found everything, but just finding this orb made me want to put it all together...
And Meteorb you say, that means I don't even have to make a new one, I already have a retired mf meteorb sorc, so I'll give her a go with the set... :)
If you have access to a Spirit Monarch (and Str investment!) then use one with at least 30% FCR so you can free up a ring slot...i didn't allocate that much Str so i'm stuck with a Lidless + 2xFCR rings for the breakpoint using full Tals...great set...gives you all the res, life etc you need to MF comfortably...fill your Inv with MF charms and life charms with Poison Res as it's the only one that falls short with the full set...oh and check the FHR breakpoint out to as it can help (well, i make sure as i'm HC and don't like to be caught out!) get away from mobs quicker...well, the sorc breakpoints are in the stickies with 'The Truth...' so yeah, it's worth a re-read!
Have fun dude

If you're sick of Meteorb you could always go with Blizzball. With Meteorb you're pretty much stuck with big fire damage and cold as a backup, but with Blizzball there's much more flexibility. You can have big Fire Ball and Meteor damage with Blizzard as a backup, you can have big Blizzard and Ice Blast damage with Fire Ball as a backup, or you can go for a nice balance of all four.
Regarding the 'Spirit' shield, it's all or nothing. With a 35%FCR roll all you need is the 20%FCR from Magefist to hit 105%FCR. With anything less you'll need a FCR ring in addition to Magefist.

Thx for that PT...guess i have to take another look at my FCR situation as i might be able to free up a ring slot...either that or i was thinking of my druid (trying to make Aldurs set work with a 31% Spirit, 10% FCR ring, 8%FCR crafted belt and Magefist...)...either that or i can't count!!
EDIT: Yeah...just can't count lol...checked AS...

On SC my vote goes for Meteorb, as hardly any other sorc profits as much from the benefits of this set as this. On HC I am currently running a pretty successful e-shield pure Orber mf-Sorc with this set. The added life and mana makes e-shield builds pretty tough.
