how much strength for an MF sorc

ok, I am back after a 3year break :) hehe and forgotten everything basically

I am making a blizzard mf sorc for solo mf farming baal and mef(Baal when the gear gets good enuf(mainly merc lol))

will aimfor around 800mf for both.

I am thinking tal rasha's armor will be the highest str I will need, this is right?

1.11 introduced "spirit" runeword. which works in 4 socket shields and 4 socket swords. It's undeniably the best shield for any caster, and the price is a joke (tal+thul+ort+amn)

Unfortunately the lowest strength of a 4 os shield is 156, for a monarch.

back ages ago it used to be diminishing returns, correct me if this has changed.

alot of people used to recomend 300-400mf but I much prefer the extra 400, even though its bonus is nowhere near as big as the 1st 400

you only need to gimp yourself with 300-400 if you are using a gimped spec like metoerorb.

my old sorc used to quite happily solo hell baal with 1000mf but then again her gear was flawless

That is a good shield but the str is so high. What endgame eq should everyone be using and how much will that eq give to str? I don't want to put 150 base points into str and end up getting a +20 or +30 bonus from my eq or something in the end.

So what is the suggested base str and what items will boost your str? The only main one I can think of is war travs.

Torch, (10-20) Anni (10-20) Shako (2, not much but ive found myself missing the 2 str when changing gear) Fcr rings with up to 20 str.

I always aim for about 80-90 base, though my friend has sorcs with 15 base strength, having enough for monarchs. I dont have a clue how he does it

@Fallen: Mf has severe diminishing returns but the rule still applies: Don't sacrifice killing speed for mf, if you kill very happily and FAST with 1000+ mf then thats fine, but if you hobble round unable to dent baals slimy hide then don't bother. 300-400 is perfectly fine and it all works. Luck is a lot to do with mf in the first place anyway.

perfect gear choice:

my old pvp poisen nec used to have base strength too, requires mental expensive gear though, like perfect anni's

and its a git to lvl, poisen necs are hard for the 1st 30 lvls as it is
