WTF is wrong with my sorc

Ok for some reason my sorc is the death machine, meaning it dies alot. Just convert from classic, but i do have enough gear like occy and + skills and + life to get by. I have over 1k life which is the norm, but for some reason when i do things like pindle, i get owned. I try to blizz to stop em but once one of the things charges me i get owned. its like 2-3 charges and im dead. i got about a 4k blizz. Dont got a merc to tank as well. is it just my playing style of do i need better equip.

If you're having problems with pindle heres a suggestion:

Glacial spike!

Blast one at his gang and they'll all freeze in place. Then throw blizzards at them

You might want to consider max (75%) blocking!

Also, it's hard to say what your character's deficiency is; we don't know your build, what safety skills you use, defense rating, or playing style.

Defiance merc can help you avoid getting hit, Holy freeze merc can slow down enemies (so you can avoid getting hit). This isn't classic anymore; you can put armor/weapons on your mercenary. Why play without him, especially if you're having trouble surviving solo?
