Two quick questions

I'm sorry for being such a noob and all that, but I've got two questions that's been bothering me.... and I couldn't find what I was looking for when searching in the forums.

1) I play the CL/FO sorceress build that I have followed religiously from the guide available here, and I am able to solo through Hell now, if it's just me playing in the game. But I hear people talking about lightning sorceress that deals 50k+ damage.... how is this even remotely possible? With maxed Lightning, Chain Lightning and Lightning Mastery, I do about 2.6k damage now, with +5 extra skill points from my equipment. Without the bonus, it's down to 1.9k. According to my calculations, this means that each point adds an additional 140 damage, give or take. So for 50k+ damage, I would need a bonus of +357 skill points???

2) What is the generally considered best socketed armor to put the rune word for "Fortitude" in? :rolleyes: For a sorceress that is.... my strength is 75 without charms. But even so, what is considered best for a sorceress?

1. Yeah. But with bonuses you must count lighning mastery also :? Incl synenergy. ( i prefer Lightning + CB instead of CL, but that's just preference)

50k damage lightning is only possible with maxed lightning mastery and all synergies, nova, chain, charged bolt and lightning it self. It'll take equipment like high griffs and high echustas to hit 50k+ and you'll need an inventory full of grand charms.

Despite the fact that fortitude shouldn't be used on a sorc, either a dusk shroud or archon plate will be fine.

Allright, well actually I was originally going to use it for my amazon, but... is Dusk Shroud considered the best to put Fortitude in for all classes, or just sorceress..?

I've never seen a sorc use fortitude.

People like high defense archon plates for fort. But it really isnt much use for a sorcy

The reason people love Dusk Shrouds is because of the relatively low STR requirement for a high (IIRC, 500+ possible with superior/lucky rolls) defense armor.

Ridiculous damage lightning builds stem from equipment that heavily increase %lightning damage (facets, Ormus, Griffons, etc) + 9 lightning skill GCs/torch/annihilus.

In terms of best armor; you might be thinking "Chains of Honor" runeword and not fortitude -- for best base? Look for the highest defense armor you can get that's within your strength range.

This is most likely a Dusk Shroud or Archon Plate.

hmph, well this is just my opinion, but coh should almost never be used for a sorc. Vmagi is just a few less resistances, and it gives fcr, letting some fcr equipment places go free. But thats just my opinion, you can do whatever.

to reach 50k light damage you need roughly. +28 light skills with a full synergized sorc. So lets think how we can get that.

+2 coh
+1 arachs
+2 2xsoj
+2 spirit
+3 torch
+1 anni
+9 light skillers
Thats +28 and will give u 41-49694 So ur screen will read 41-50k
