View Full Version : PvP Enchant Sorc?

So I was looking through that BvB thread a page back and saw some guys posting about an Enchant Sorc using Throwing Knives in PvP. Now I'm curious about it and have some questions:

1. How does it work exactly? ( Basics; equip, skill set-up, etc. )
2. Is it LLD-viable?

It sounds fun and now I want to make one, but I haven't a clue on how to make it.

First off, this type of Sorc is NOT LLD viable. Secondly, I have no idea how to make one of these, but if I had to guess at the gear, here's what it would look like:

Pre-PvP Buffer
Helmet: Tarnhelm
Weapon: +2 Sorc +3 Enchant Staff
Amor: Silks of the Victor
Gloves: Magefist
Boots: Tearhaunch
Belt: Death's Guard
Ring: The Stone of Jordan x 2
Amulet: +2 Sorc Amulet

PvP Enchant Sorc
Helmet: Tarnhelm
Weapon: Throwing Knives
Shield: The Ward
Armor: Twitchthroe
Gloves: Death's Hand
Boots: Tearhaunch
Belt: Death's Guard
Rings: Angelic Halo x 2
Amulet: Angelic Wings

If someone else has better insight, please share it.

U may have stumbled across a rather interesting little idea there, i guess u would need to have a fair bit of +skills gear, then ias and life gear.

Think of it as Bo gear that barbs use, use the +skills gear being magefists, silk, tarn, staff (+1skills +3enchant if lld, +2 +3 for higher lvl), maybe hellplauge and sig sheild (might be more effective then staff) and sojs if u got them.

Then ur gear would be prolly twitch, death gloves/belt or sig gloves/belt/boots, treads, life mask maybe, and use angelic rings/ammy to get the ar u require for the dam things to hit.

However u may just be better off using a Ravenclaw. All in all, worth thinking about.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds fun. I think this will be my next build since my LLD Necro is 3/4 complete.

My plan is maxing out Enchant and Warmth then pumping some into Telekinesis / Energy Shield and Thunderstorm OR Shiver / Cold Armor ( not sure which to use ) and Thunderstorm.

Anymore feedback is appreciated.

I bet I could kill her with my 13 charger. 74% blocking and 90% fr.

You most likely could. But I'm not expecting this build to do much good, really. I'm just making it for fun and seeing how it turns out. I'll be glad if I could even kill 1 or 2 people with this build.

You're forgetting fire mastery. Fire mastery, enchant, warmth, telekinesis, and energy shield (level 10 or so base) is reasonable. Putting on energy shield with the +skills and a +2/+3 staff would give you 76% ES at level 85, for example. There's probably a more efficient combo to place 30 points into Telekinesis/ES since you're not using your mana for anything else, too.

Yeah, it's a silly idea, but who cares?

For a LLD, a chant sorc is DEF not viable. Even at level 60 a chant sorc doesnt do much dmg. especially when they stack FR, which is really easy to do lol. I had an idea of doing a Chant PvP char as well. getting +skill gear, and FCR gear, and chanting a Merc and being a tele whore. I got it to level 70 and she worked pretty well, unless the char had FR. but when i put on my chant gear, chanted myself and the merc, and switched to FCR gear, the chant dmg changed ><

Woops, yeah I forgot about the Mastery. I might or might not max that out though.

Right now I'm thinking about Telekinesis / Energy Shield with lots of mana ( Energy ) instead of Vitality. I'm not sure if ES blocks magic, elemental, etc. damage though. I'll have to test that out.

My idea is to put 10-14 into Telekinesis and 5-10 into ES. I dunno.. I'll make a test char first and see how it goes.

better off getting a cheap 2nd pc, and a 2nd cd, and making a dedicated chanter to chant your other char and/or his/her merc/minions.

it is quite fun making new characters, and having someone completely new to the game, thinking they are hot crap, and they hostile my new lvl 9 character, naked with only a bow, and I one shot kill them... (if I can hit them)

note: I don't go looking for trouble, it just seems to find me while I'm making new characters... :)

ehm maybe just another question, at akukami's setup then. doesn't ench give enough attack rating, so u wont need to use angelics, and could make up space for some fun rares or soj's?

to get a decent lvl damage from enchant, one needs to be in the level 5x range. (for over 1k pvm damage) at lvl 67, w/out sojs, my chanter gives about 1,500 damage. that's using silk, tarn, magefist, +2 ammy, and +2/+3 chant staff. the AR bonus is only something like 2500 AR (if that)

in the lvl 5x range, you will be competing against folks with godly shields, and even some wearing ornates - meaning more AR will be needed, and even then depending on your foe's C2B, and/or a zon's avoid/dodge/evade level may find yourself whiffing like Ray Charles at the free throw line...

the reason why everyone is saying that it's not viable as a lld, is for example, my lvl 19 charger does over 1200 max dmg per charge in comparison...

chargers are overpowered

but a level 16 fire palladin does like 140dmg (without taking him to nightmare/hell) and level 18 enchantress (NO +skills) just like 60

point? when making a pvp build, one should in theory at least consider the competition...

the competition is what makes the enchantress not viable for pvp/LLD especially so.
