I'm making new pala for torch hunting. Smiter and barb are boring :wink3:

I'm going to invest skill:
max zeal and sacrifice (sacrifice as a last skill)
15 conviction (more or less depends of final equip)
max light res
1 smite
max holy shield and defiance
any advices?

stuff which I will use for sure:
2 x dream (1 in sacred targe 40@)
gores
CoH - my favourite armor althought most players prefer forti :lipsrsealed:
to be honest I consider duress either (some CB can be usefull) or Guardian Angel with fade prebuffed from LW.

stuff which I want use but not sure:
belts: Nos/Trang/Wilhelm/Dungo/IK (with IK glov only)
glov: draculs/craft (have not yet)/lava gout (some AR from enchant can be usefull even if conviction works), IK (with IK boots only)
amu: Highlord or rare (I use most often crappy +1 skill and some res, but with tele charges, what safe my *** few times)
rings: have no idea. BK or double leach - depends of your advice refering sanctuary aura.

weapon: Crescent moon - conviction is capped at - 150, what about - light res from this RW. As I remember resist cannot be lower then 100% but ubers have 75% - 150% = -75% so I can still make it lower. Moreover static field works similar to CB at start.
Another weapons which I consider:
Doom, Lawnbringer or Azure.

that more then 2 auras can be active on 1 character. I hope that Ambid would not be angry that I'm asking again about the same. I'm sure that merc can have only 2 auras, what about character? Moreover I do not understand how sanctuary works with PI undead monsters. Are they still PI or not, am I able to LL or not? I would be greatful if somebody explain it with simple English :wink3:
What about Ubers Drain Effectiveness when decripify is casted? Is there any difference?

Last, most important question:
Does anyone tried dreamer in Tristram? Do you think that 20K dmg would be enough to finish ubers?

This build should do fine. Although I really don't think it's necessary to have Crescent Moon. A high physical damage weapon would help you out more with both damage and leech. The good things about this build are that

1. Level 21+ Conviction nullifies Mephy's Conviction so you don't have to worry about resists,
2. You'll have high lightning resists so you won't take much damage,
3. Conviction lowers their defense so you don't have to worry much about AR,

The majority of damage from Uber-Trist is elemental, so you'll need max resists. That combined with a good source of leech or Life Tap will make it extremely easy. Your damage will be fine to kill them. It won't be quite as fast as a Smiter, but you'll kill them in less than 4 minutes.

I haven't tried your build, but I used my Auradin and he ripped them apart. They really couldn't do any significant damage. As I said, killing speed is a little bit slower considering your Zeal attack will be all over the place, but it should enough to kill them without much trouble.

With the Lightning Damage, you don't really need Sacrifice. I'd say use the points elsewhere.
Max:
Zeal,
Resist Lightning,
Conviction (19 or 20),
Holy Shield,
and the rest in Salvation.

For general PvM, I use a Act 1 merc with a Faith Crusader Bow, which with a Highlord's, allows me to get the max Zeal breakpoint with a EBOTD BA. But for Ubers, I can't count on the merc, so I've been using a EBOTD PB.
Other equipment which I use, besides the dual Dreams, include Drac's, Gore's, T-god's, Raven Frost, B-K, and COA.
I've had no problems taking down the Ubers. Once in awhile, though, Mephisto's minions seem to divert off quite a few of the Zeal hits, diluting the damage. So once I put a Beast on my switch and changed into a Bear, then used a normal attack with the EBOTD which allowed me to focus solely on Uber Meph--no problem.
When Iron Maidened, I throw the Gimmershred axe, which when combined with Conviction and the Dreams, do phenomenal damage, which is listed around 9k.
IMO, this is an all around fun PvM character, able to handle anything Dii puts in its way.

Holy Shield,

Should be your choice.

What about treachery? Fade gives you almost as much res as CoH would along with 45 IAS which let's you hit 4fpa zeal with CMphase/azure/etc. Free's up your ammy and belt to be Verds/Tgods and Maras.

Max Sac as synergy to zeal to hit more often and use the LW PB for the best ias for non-merc ubering with enigma when you can afford the killer sc'sif you pvm you should pump up the mf. Merc's faith in the great bow gives best ias you can have for rogue, unless you go the andy/crow caw route which isnt nearly half as cool as the dream/dragon cold merc way for tri-elem threat and extra 5% light res max.

Its all in my often imitated but never duplicated guide here.

Sacrifice synergy doesn't make you hit more often. Even if it did you wouldn't need it anyway with high level Conviction and Zeal. Relying on your Faith merc for IAS is a baaaad idea for torch hunting.
