Well, I was just thinking about where and how you guys mf.

Personally, I'm getting a little tired of the usual places: Glitch meph, andy with drop bug and of course my ww baba :)

The thing is that I have now made 100+ runs with each and I haven't really gotten anything of real value.

Then last night I talked to this guy who was making a dia running sorc that worked the same way as the meph glitch. Only she would be mf'ing in nm.

Would that be a good idea to go for?

Anyway, please give your input as to what you find the best method for mf'ing :fortuneteller:

I have quest glitched nm Diablo with virtually every character I have created. If not for the low number of nm games, and the usual crying that goes with a raid, I'd do it more often.

I have found some useful uniques, and decent enough rares from doing so.

I have not ever intentionally bragged about "wealth" but at this point, have enough "end game gear" that NM mfing on classic softcore (ladder and non) doesn't hold any allure for/to me.

I did quite a bit of MFing with my angellic baba in all the usual, and unusual places. The time spent doing so vs. the drops did not come close to comparing to the return I have gotten from my hell mephy glitchers.

that being said, 100 runs is nothing in my book...

Some glitch NM diablo. There is a low life maniac certified nut case on Europe SC by the name of Xpk that is level 94 still in NM. Of course this form of public glitiching kills the game you do it in. I don't think I need to comment further on that.

I wonder, if perhaps he is doing the act5 hack (in nm) to get xp.

there's hardly any xp from raiding full hell games at lvl 9x let alone only in nm

This is not true as I've seen him in hell game.

He was level 94 way before act5 hack.

And yes, it's pretty much impossible to get lvl 94 in NM. :)

Just create a game with a char in hell and join and raid with the sorc :)

Problem solved heh

It does not kill the game, just kick off all players. The game stays and can be rejoined if you do it quickly - I've done many glitch mephi runs in cs games, and sometimes when I was very slow and runners really fast, I had to rejoin to finish my run.

If you do diablo runs in public games, it won't hurt you to advice everyboy to just wait a minute and rejoin the game, after countdown starts. Unless someone went through few maps without finding wps (run on foot through act3 jungle), there is little harm done.

Like Monzee said, you can make glitch games alone, with one PC / one copy of diablo / one account. Just create a game and leave immiedietly, and the game will stay rejoinable long enough to switch character and rejoin. Leaving quickly seems to be key, if game creator stays for few seconds game will not be joinable if he leaves. It's not reliable enough to mule (once a while game dies before you rejoin), and should not be done too many times in row, especially if your runs are fast, as you may get temporal ban for straining servers. But it's doable, I do it with my mephi runners when there are no cows/ cs / trade games.

Wow since having made this thread I have just done 20 more meph runs with my glitcher.

Just a second ago I got a 3x unique items drops from him. One of them being a ring

And... Yes you guessed it. My second soj found using this glitch and thereby my 3rd selffound soj this ladder

NM Diablo is mainly used for for SoJs and cool chars, Lady Xpk is played by a buddy of mine and he's not the guy you're thinking of.

Dame Slaaf (http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/5117/screenshot008ii3.jpg)

Level 87 is still astonishing never the less.

By the way Monzee, if you're a big fan of MF'ing and don't care too much about the ladder you should check out v1.10+ LoD in singleplayer and maybe even the Single Player Forum (http://forums.diabloii.net/forumdisplay.php?forumid=3)

I've never been a big fan of uniques, I prefer using godly rares, so I only MF in Hell. MF norm and NM only if there is a very specific item I'm looking for. A typical run looks like this:

Rakinishu, Bishibosh, Tristram, Boneash, Fireeye, Stormtree, Trav, Seal Bosses.

Out of boredom or being too repetitive I might skip some, or throw in Pits, Ancient Tunnels, and Graveyard, etc.

I never do any of that glitch stuff. Legit player all the way and the people I play with are legit as well. :afro:

Ive mfed A LOT in d2 and in my opinion the best way to go is solo hell cs with an mf barb. you might get a godly item once in every 200 runs glitching meph, but in the same amount of runs in hell cs youd get like 5 very good,if not godly items.
ps: ive done prolly a thousand mf glitch runs and countless solo hell cs runs.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Yea, I'd say I get an item worth keeping every 20-30 runs or so. Rough estimate.

I'm legit all the way as well. I have just chosen to exploit a known bug in the game to get quest drops from mephy every time, by never questing for mephy... same idea as a lord kill in cs, only I don't have to fight over the drops.

let me assure you, there is nothing trivial about getting a sora to lvl 85, well on the way to 86 without ever having quested mephy, never having flayered, and only taking on the council for xp occasionally..

I usually do the standard Rakinishu, Bishibosh, Tristram, Boneash, Fireeye, Stormtree, Trav trip with my GF/MF barb. And after that i rejoin the game with my sorc and end the run with a glitched mephy run.

Till now the best drops are comming from fire-eye/stormtree. Never had any luck with the glitched mephi runs.

As ByAxident mentioned, it takes literally hundreds, upon hundreds of mephy runs to get good/"gg" drops from glitching mephy.

that being said, I can probably do a mephy glitch in 90 seconds and tag along with the more accomplished folks making rapid fire cs runs. I doubt that Tim is clearing the CS solo, with a barb every 90 seconds...

Actually, this makes me think of another idea for a CS Baba.

Loads of leach, and use a low dmg bleeder like the gnasher, boneflesh, and swordback, perhaps wyrmskull to psn as well?. WW to bleed them out.

then switch over to mf gear to pop?

WarlockCC

Perhaps swordback, boneflesh, goblins, Coif and a 6 PE sock low damage weapon.
Downside would be that you'd have to keep hitting the potions if you make it a WW barb. Since with low damage you'll never leech enough in Hell.(1/3rd of your leech actually working in 1.1x hell)

I DO miss the days of ML/LL in 1.09 ... remember the massive LL WW baba we had ? (still have but useless now :P)

Had max LL to overcome Iron Maiden :)
Worked wonders ... ah well ... whatchagonnado.

Back on topic ... glitch is nice ... but ALL items I found were in the category "JUST missed the point" ... 3 stats on an item that would have made it usefull if it also had Enhanced DEF/DAMAGE to make it superb ... Same goes for armors ... 2 res in 1x and life 1x and nice ED ... but no FHR. FRUSTRATING!

Anyway, found a new way to MF. I use my BlizzSorc to "clear" CS and open the seals. Then I join with my Hammerdin, who has ~300MF and kills seal bosses/dia. That's reaping alot of nice items. Thinking of which ... I will go do some MF :P

Already found 3 +2 pala shields and some BO sticks.

There is a thread linked in the Builds and useful' sticky which explains that rather well.

Since no one ever reads the Builds Sticky first, perhaps it would be better to rename it to The FAQ Thread.
