it would help if you posted a link to the guide. the only base str barbs I know of are singers or maybe throwbarbs.

Any barb that uses nigma can be base strength just about. The benefit is more life via stat points in vita.

i found a ww barb pvp guide here's the link:

http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=260648

and it says enough str for your equipment

shouldn't i put alot into strength? or is this a better idea, to keep it to my gears level of str required

thanks

I just skimmed through the guide, it appears to be a modified bva. he calls for using ebotdz over griefz which is kinda odd but it does afford you to have more vita.

personally, I believe griefz far better than ebotdz, but the whopping +30 all stats really helps his build.

you could get away with little to no strength if your gear is good. your goal would be to be able to have the 174 required strength for coa without str bugging. it should be no problem with the gear he listed.

::edit::

the two ravenfrost are just for convenience. they are really adaptive universal rings that work well in pub games. it wouldn't do you any harm to find fcr/mana rings to put in stash and combine with arachnids for 40% fcr when appropriate

+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead
7% Mana Stolen Per Hit
12-15% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
Prevent Monster Heal
+30 To All Attributes
+1 To Light Radius
Requirements -20%

griefz = grief berserker axe (Eth+Tir+Lo+Mal+Ral)

35% Chance To Cast Level 15 Venom On Striking
+30-40% Increased Attack Speed (varies)
Damage +340-400 (varies)
Ignore Target's Defense
-25% Target Defense
+(1.875 per character level) 1.875-185.625% Damage To Demons (Based on Character Level)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
-20-25% To Enemy Poison Resistance (varies)
20% Deadly Strike

heres a good link for technical comparisons of griefz vs ebotdz as well as durress (which is the secondary armor of choice in the WW guide) vs fort

Dyn's guide had EBotdZ because it was posted back in 2004, meaning no Grief.

Also, STR is not that good of a mod. It does not amplify your damage by a lot and the effects comparing str to vitality are always to the favor of vitality.

Also, Ravenfrosts are one of the best rings for PvP barbarians: +40 dex, +700 dex, +40% cold absorb, +80 mana, CBF. Show me a pair of rings that is superior to all of that. The CBF and the cold absorb just cannot be overthrown by any other rings.

+700 dex eh? That is tough to beat, though I think zons would like that more....

How nice of you to lack common sense and realize I meant +AR of course. And that is impossible to top, by the way.

you're asking for too much.

How nice of you to forget to turn on your sarcasm detector and instead instantly react like a prick to an innocent joke.

Not to be an asshole, but where does the number 700 come from? 250*2 = 500? Or is 40 dex translated into 200 AR somehow?

I think that's what he was referring to.
