Q: What WW weapons to use?

Hi there. I'm fairly new to the Barbarian PvP field. I've been using a throw/WW hybrid but have decided to remake him heavier on WW and lighter for Throw (Mostly just for AR for throws and not damage to use lacerators to cast amp dmg). I have always used 2x Ebotdz for WW (or a single ebotdz+SS for bvb) But have seen a lot of barbs use various combinations of ebotdz, grief, and beastz. The best barb I've seen uses a Grief Pblade and an SS. Could someone please fill me on on all this? Would it be worth the investment into swords to use Grief Pblades, or 2x them? Or do high % Ebotdz do more dmg, or grief+something, etc etc?

FYI I use bloodfists, dungos, arreat's (looking to put a 15/15 in it to help stack against casters), and a 40/15 SS. Of course I use Angelics for ammies+rings, 200 gores, and I'm also looking to use a MP Nigma.

Grief is the most damaging weapon, and with 34% ias, it will reach the lbp of a whirlwinder's attack speed. And because beast gives fana aura and a strength boost, this makes the grief on the first hand much stronger. Not to mention, the fact that beast is landing its own hits and has cb and ow mods.

Use grief with ss.

A ebotd berserk axe does about = 171-506 damage per hit
A grief berserk axe does about = 394-441 damage per hit

Berserker axes are generally used, because they have a range of 3 and beast can't be made on swords.

Just make sure you get atleast 34% ias before you look about damage (damage is good too, but you will hit much harder with last ww bp ;)

I just happen to have a 34, acutally although it is only +389

As another question, would it be advisable for me to use enough str to have AP Fort? or can I get by using MP Nigma? I mean I have an AP nig I'll swap out for bvc etc when the necessity arises, but for bvb would the fort be vital?

yes, for BvB, if you use enigma, you will miss the extra damage and defense granted. by forti.

my botd maul does 13,000 a conc hit on my ik barb..it was doing 30K a charge on my lvl 83 pally.. i scraped pally because charge lock and bugs suk.a charger is a troublesome build.well to me anyways.now the new projext barb with zerk-ww.. itll do more then ik though easy.i just like tasty fat DMG 2 handers myself.rem u always have wep switch 2.

but that maul will probably (cba doing numbers) do less damage than grief because it will hit alot less because it wont hit the last ww breakpoint.
never use mauls for PvP on a ww barb, just doesn't work.
axes are the best option, and swords are just about workable.

"Quote".never use mauls for PvP on a ww barb, it just doesn't work. lol.:scratch: i hate to disagree but if theyre built right and played right thy work fine..rem, not all the wins are about equipment.most are about how u use thus equip.im sure u already know that but i thought id toss it out there.:point:.if a player like me has the best maul there is and has the best 2 hander maul build possible u will will a lot.not 100% of the time but a lot..no ones wins 100% of the time or the game would suk.:badteeth:again its all the builders play style and choice-exp with other builds i guess.

yes, but you are at a severe disadvantage when using the maul, so what you say doesn't come down to having more skill/better equipment...
its like giving yourself a handicap for no reason :smiley:
