why not equip him with a beast rune word wep
with the added aura his wolf form will be extremely fast right?

Nope, like a ww barb's ias, only ias from the weapon will increase his attack speed. So a wolfbaba using a beast will only attack as fast as the ias thats on the weapon, the fanta will NOT increase the speed.
