Hey there,

I just found a 3 sox. pala shield with 42 res. I was thinking about making a sanctuary, but allas it's a normal shield (so only 17 def or so). Since you can't up a normal item, I was thinking about putting in the runeword and up it afterwards.

I'm just not shure if "upping-wise" a unique and a runeword are considered the same.

I know it's a long shot but I'm lazy and don't want to search for a good elite shield.

My thanks in advance  .

I'm fairly sure you can't, but not 100% sure, probably about 95%.

I'm afraid I have to disappoint you. A runeword is not considered the same as a unique. You can't up it.
I'm afraid you'll have to keep searching or live with the lower def.

Make an Ancient's Pledge out if it for an awesome low level Pally shield.

In my opinion, three perfect diamonds beat Ancient's Pledge. It has a lower level requirement as well.
