What is Muling??

"Muling" is a strategy used by players who acrue too many items for their main characters to hold. Usually on a separate account, many characters are created simply for the purpose of holding stuff. Muling as a verb can mean to create said character or "parking" a mule in a game with other mule to "perm" them (make them permanent by leaving them in a game for more than two hours.)

It is a good idea to glitch or rush your mules to hell so that they may trade in hell, this process also helps burn time to perm them, as well as level them to allow holding more gold (if you store gold.) Rushing mules also give you options such as using their socketing quests, hellforges, and gaining a horodric cube, of course you can give them one anyway yourself.

That is basically it, there usn't much else to it. A trick I do however (and this is bad mannered, but hell its a game) is I always make assasins, rush them to hell and only let them get to level 8. This way, they have a few points into the Burst of Speed skill ,the only skill I give her. So aside from being a mule, I can also infiltrate hell games where people are dueling, dash out real quic after a kill and snag some gold XD

Unless your character is level 9 or higher, no one can hostile you. It is a good way to get lots of gold instantly.

I've never tried it, but I think if you visit Cain in Act III without a cube he hands one to you. Or maybe it was Act IV, but I'm fairly certain it was Cain...

I tried that but it didn't work, I know that if you don't pick up mephistos soulstone, Cain will hand it over in act IV. The high council drops a cube if you haven't picked one up yet when you get there... however that didn't work for me either, maybe I should get my cube back from the mule ;)

If I'm not mistaken, when you give away your cube after you have done the quests to get it, you can either:

-Go to the Halls of the Dead in any difficulty and retrieve a new one from the chest

-OR-

-Slay everyone in Travincal, and the last guy should drop one.

Either way it is easy since you can do either methods on normal.

If I'm not mistaken, when you give away your cube after you have done the quests to get it, you can either:

-OR-

-Slay everyone in Travincal, and the last guy should drop one.

Either way it is easy since you can do either methods on normal.

The second method only works if you completed Act2 in that game. So just give them the cube from your sorceress and then make a normal game with your sorceress to get a new one from the halls of the dead.

I usually rush my mules to hell for the hforge quest, in normal I lend them my horadric cube so they can make a staff but I don't bother getting it there. Then in a3 in Travincal one of the council drops enough horadric cubes for all the mules. I suspect because you need it to complete a3 -> making Khalim's Will.

Hmm that made me think, maybe you get it in Travincal on every character that didn't complete act3 yet.

That only works for characters who neither have Khalim's Will nor haven't smashed the Compelling Orb so far.
