I downloaded the Native Installer for Mac at the Blizzard site, and I have a macbook OS X 10.4.8. I am just wondering if anyone else has used this installer for their mac, and if they got it to work.

What is the problem you are having?
Are you having problems installing, or actually getting it to run?
Some Intel Macs have issues running D2 under OpenGL. I haven't checked for a bit, but when I last checked, the only work around was to run under software emulation mode. (You can hold down the option key when you start up to open the video options if it doesn't pop up automatically.)

I open the installer and it says insert Install Disc, I insert the disc, and it spits it back out. It will not recognize the install disc I guess, but thats as far as I have gotten. I am not using an Intel mac, I have a macbook OS X 10.4.8. I don't know if i need to do anything different, but I'm trying to work this installer, and I need some help.

Macbooks are Intel macs. :wink3: (iBooks and Powerbooks are PowerPC based.)
From your other thread, it sounds like the disks you have are PC only. (If when you bought them they were supposed to have the Windows and Mac versions, you may want to contact Blizzard. I seem to remember they sent out some hybrid (mac and PC) ones a while back where one of the disks was PC-only.)
If you disks are PC-only, your choices are to get the hybrid version (the disks say both Windows and Macintosh on them) or install Windows under Boot Camp (http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/) and run it that way. You will need to buy Windows XP (Vista might work too, but  ) if you go that route. Buying a new version of D2 will be a lot cheaper.

Could I just buy a new version of D2, that runs on mac and PC, and not have to worry about boot camp? I've downloaded the trial 30 day version of boot camp, but I would rather buy the new D2 Disc. Another thing, I want to play the expansion LOD, so would I need to buy another copy of LOD that is compatible with Mac's?

Buying a new version should work. (Just keep in mind that you might have the video problems and need to run in software mode.) All of your disks (both Classic and LOD) will need to say "Macintosh" on them. So, if your LOD disk isn't currently compatible, you will need to get a new one of those as well.
