was just wondering what a good stat placement for a smite pally would be.

i was thinking 120 str 140 dex and the rest into vitality?

It depends alot about your other gear. Most likely the highest str req item you will ever want to wear is coa (174 str req).

120 base str and 140 dex sounds high, i'm pretty sure you can go with less.

you will need around 100-130 dex for max blocks with holyshield.
Phase blade needs 136, that's what most smiters are aiming to.

Lets say you have mid stats anni, torch, raven, enigma.

At lvl 80 enigma gives you 60 str, 15 anni, 15 torch = 90 str

174 - 90 = 84 str

17 dex raven, 15 anni, 15 torch = 47

136 - 47 = 89 dex

I doubt you will ever need 120 str and 140 dex.

If you're going to wear CoA, I suggest you get a RES/-REQ Jewel + Ber for it. My smiter uses a Perf COA w/ +15RES/-REQ & Ber in it. He hits 46% DR with CoA (23), Enigma (8), and Dungo's (15).

It's really not too hard figuring out how much STR/DEX you need to put on your char. As what the above poster said, it really depends on your gear/charms (charms: torch and anni).

For example, you just need enough DEX for max CtB. You can easily get max CtB by:

1. Getting your desired level
2. Have your charms/gear on your char
3. Do your usual pre-buffs (CTA & HS)
4. Swap to your smiter shield
5. Pump DEX until you get max CtB.
