Best weapon for smite pally?

I have posted this in newcomer forum but seems i might get more responses by posting here. From the replies in that forum, grief is what most pallies use; however, i'm trying to use non-ladder items for this pally.

currently im using kingslayer berserker axe / lightsabre
and im thinking to change a better one or looking for the best one
since i couldnt reach the last bp if i use kingslayer and lightsabre seems weak to me...any thoughts about it?

btw this is for non ladder uswest and im building this pally for uber

I used to use astreon's on an uber smiter for a while, it works quite well, it has +skills a little +dmg and %cb all of which make it a nice smite weapon. The redeemer also has +skills and more +dmg if you already have enough %cb but it is also slower and will require more %ias. But both are options worth considering.

I've got a shael'd Heavens light on my nl smiter. Same basic setup except GA for armor (treachery prebuff) and HOZ for the shield. Works pretty good, with the fade from treachery and stack resists he seldom dies. Just need to get life tap going and have some cb. I wouldn't worry too much about hitting the last smite bp. I don't think it's that critical for ubering.

Its very critical to hit the last bp for smite in any situation.
More IAS means more dps and more chance on CB going off.

'black' flail, it's cheap, has crushing blow, fairly decent speed, and is cheap.

also, heaven's light is ladder only, but i use it on my uber smiter.

from all the suggestions in both threads, i have come down to 4 choices:
silence pb
stormlesh
astreon
kingslayer pb

still dunno what to use
from my gear, i should have 65 cb and 68 ow
is that good enough? if so, i may choose silence for +skill, resist and fhr

1 of my friend is using doom for his smite/zeal pally. It seems nice to have the hf aura, but this runeword can only apply on axes which cant reach the last bp without using ias gear (ie highlord ammy)....I know the ed doesnt matter on smite, but i prefer mara to highlord. should i put 1 point in zeal or just pure smite?

65CB and 68OW is plenty.
Im sure a BA with 45IAS can hit the last smite bp (with Fanat. ofcourse).
Anyway, Usually ppl make 1pt Smiters (basically normal Zealots) and own ubers very easily.
Zealot can handle the spawns of minions in trist better than a pure smiter.

I like using wirts leg on my smiter paladin.

But since i cant afford one i have to use a grief.


ps~ Grief pb for pvm and pvp for indestructible ~ Grief zerk for pvp mainly.

Ive got a Wirts Leg for 1500HRs.
Its Self-found and price is 50% cheaper than on other forums.
