View Full Version : a few questions on assassin skills
is the physical damage reduction from fade cumulative with that from equipment (string of ears)?
is there any way an assasin to increase chance to block aside from investing more time in weapon block?
is mindblast's stun length reduced in nightmare/hell? is mindblast worth more than 1 point?
can you cast two cloak of shadows in a row, or do you have to wait for the timer to run down on your first cast?
dragon claw claims to add charge-ups to both claw attacks - is this true? i.e., if i were using an elemental charge-up, the elemental attack could go off twice.
thanks.

yes
when using weapon block the only thing that increases your chance to block is points in weapon block.
not to my knowledge, its worth extra points if you have points to throw around, but not important enough to take points out of synergies imo.
need to wait for the timer to run out
dunno

I assume that even though the damage reduction is cumulative, it's still capped at 50%?

The charge-up is only applied to the first attack (at least that's what I've read a couple times). That applies to both DClaw and DTalon.

Dragon Claw - both claws attack at the same time.
Dragon Talon - multiple kicks - not, say 3-4 kicks happening at the same time (she's only got 2 legs!)
I disagree on this one. If 2 attacks occur simultaneously, there's no reason why the elemental bonus couldn't hit twice.

The reason is that despite the description it simply doesn't. Each claw has an individual hit check, the first claw that hits will release.
stephan, thats what i thought but yea, thats not what the description seems to indicate. luke, in the dclaw animation they are not one at a time. prkchop, this also means that if the first claw misses but the second hits, the elemetal charge is still released?
it also seems that mindblast is the place to dump your extra points, 4+ second mass immobilization seems pretty strong to me. better than say, unsynergized blades of ice?

Are any of the Moderators able to set the record straight for us?

Mind Blast is a debatable PvM skill. The conversion can vary from quite annoying to very dangerous. Death Sentry never has enough range nor shots, and if you have any spare points left, this is the primary choice.

You can't cast a second one but if you have a Shadow Warrior up and your CoS on the right clicker, she can cast hers while yours is up.
edit: and vice versa

What could be dangerous about it? I'm missing something.
If you are in the middle of a pack and half of them suddenly unconvert (while retaining e.g. a might aura for the next 2 seconds) it could pose an unwanted situation.
i have a shadowsin, so traps out of the question. mind blast is not dangerous as long as you know they're gonna unconvert and you just take a step back. cast CoS before mindblast so they'll still be CoS'd after conversion expires.
