I like the build, but since im drifitng away from d2 can anyone tell me what the point would be in making one?

Well, if you're drifting away so much, maybe it will revive your love of the game and save your soul from oblivion. Or maybe not. I know they're awesome characters for the underfunded. But I guess the point of building one would be to stop the Three Prime Evils' Horde. Or at least to get good gear and say, "Hey! Look at me! Ain't all this stuff nifty!"

I would STRONGLY suggest you consider a different build than a Frost Zealot.
I think it's a nice, fun build in some ways, but if you have any aspirations
of taking your FZ to Hell, you better think again. My FZ (even with some elite gear) gets hammered in Hell where so many enemies are immune to cold. There
are some ways to get around this, but I think the FZ is not a good build for Hell.

Just my two cents.

Make stuff cold and whack it really fast, I guess.

I think i disagree. Planning on using a faith merc, so with a maxed zeal and fana and a high dmg weapon (ebotd?) thats enough phys dmg for immunes. cold+phys immunes i havent thought about.

i'll try it.

If you can afford Faith and eBOTD then I think the smart thing to do would be keep the Holy Freeze for its slows enemies and use something else for damage. By that I mean, get a Doom Zerker. It has decent damage and only about 8% less slows enemies. From there you could invest in some Dream gear and possibly use Conviction as your main aura. From there you'd need about 20 IAS to hit 4 frames thanks to your Faith merc. You'd have a decent physical, decent lightning, and everything would be moving in slo-mo. That would be the ideal route in my opinion.

Actually, there's a pretty good guide on a frost/crushing blow zealot that works pretty well for me in hell: Frost Zealot Guide (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=542)

Mine has 95% CB, a ton of cold damage, and does pretty well in hell even though he still uses some low items like griswold armor and a rare ammy (I started him because all my characters expired and I didn't have any thing to trade for good stuff). The most expensive things he has are a +3/2-socket heaven's light (which I dual-eth'ed) and an um'ed guillaume's helm.

Even for the few cold/phys immunes, which will most likely be bosses here and there you can simply put a point in vengeance and take them out pretty quickly due to your maxed salvation synergy boost.

Best of all, he's fun and non-standard. The only complaint I'd have is that in hell the slow effect of the aura doesn't balance the lack of IAS from fanaticism.. then again mine has no IAS jewels or items.

I made a FrostZealot with some cheapish gear.
I focused on cold damage by getting some (-) minus coldresist gear.

The two important pieces of gear is:
Weapon: Voice of Reson Phase Blade -24% coldres
Armor: Treachery, 45 IAS (72 needed for fullspeed zeal)

Then you just add gear to get the extra IAS needed. A Marshal's (+3 Offensive) Circlet with 2x IAS jewels would do.

And finally, get a paladin shield with nice resists and socket it with cold facets.

I used griswold helm+shield.

The good: Does very well against all non-cold immune.
The bad: Switch weapon needed for cold immunes, feels kindof weak and has low resists when not faded.
