Hey guys -

think this is the first time I've posted on the Assassin forum, so be gentle :undecided:

I've played various trapsins to lvl90 or so and had great fun doing so. I am now, however, heartily sick of LS (and DS, to a lesser extent).

As a result, I've been looking at the fire side of the trap tree. Having using fire traps only occasionally in the past, I could really use some advice from someone knowledgeable. WoI has not been good to me - issues with targeting and general speed, so not to keen on that.

WoF loks terrible on paper! Low dmg, even with maxed synergies and only 5 uses per trap. There are a couple of things that {I think} redeem it somewhat and I'd like these beliefs either confirmed or disproved:

1. Does WoF dmg stack? i.e. if I have 5 traps each emitting a wave causing 50 fire dmg, can the enemy be hit simultaneously for 250 fire dmg? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

2. Does WoF cause 'stun lock' effects on enemies? I read that it can do this against most enemies, as their defence/block will be calculated each time they are 'hit' by an attack. Also, can it stun FI monsters (as their defence/block will still theoretically be calculated, even if they are ignoring the dmg)?

Any advice would help!

Yes the dmg will stack, although you will see it doesn't really compare with LS. It does have a nice Area of Effect. You can put a consistent amount of dmg out across an entire screen of enemies vs. LS only hitting only maybe a few at a time. I had a fire trapper a while back w/ lvl 53 WoF and it still took some patience to kill things in hell but it was fun. An infinity merc is always an option too. Norm was a breeze and NM wasn't too bad either. Yes it stuns well especially w/ MB and more so than LS, and should stun FI's just no dmg, IIRC.
Another option is make it a kick/fire trap hybrid... lotsa fun.

Kick/fire hybrid was probably what I'm going for, so thanks for the info.

Wake (and LS for that matter) only causes the stunlock effect in combination with Mind Blast. For PvM, this is a problem, as MB tends to convert monsters and slow your killing speed.

Cheers - this is precisely the sort of info nugget I was looking for
