I am thinking about building an arctic blast druid(yea, yea I know its been done, just looking for some advice)
I know that it will probably only fare well in normal, maybe nightmare... but i've made too many druids not to try this one out. i'm going to max arctic blast, cyclone armor, and hurricane firstly... i'm thinking about a secondary skill outside of the cold tree, i'm actually thinking about Solar Creeper just for more mana (and coolness effect)... Not really sure.
I don't know but will this build be able to own it up in nightmare or hell? i mean i can usually solo through to at least hell with any other druid build. (except for maxed raven and firestorm and dumping rest of points into Carrion :D)
and thats about it, what will i be able to do on each difficulty level. Oh and could someone calculate how much damage i can do with all possible +skill gear! ;D
OHH and will it be better to max vitality or block with this build

The problem is that the skill is bugged. It doesn't do nearly as much damage as it should.
about lvl 49 artic blast which does 3144-3366 damage
Another skill tree ya could look in to compliment would be summon..
20 spirit wolves
20 griz
20 artic blast
20 Cyclone armor
1-20 HoW (1 pt , than after rest maxed pump here)
You will have a lvl 40 bear... ~10k dmg
You will have lvl 40 spirit wolves... ~2.3k (x 5 wolves)
and your cyclone armor will absorb ~1.5k

True... but same with inferno... firestorm... its because average damage over time is calculated diffrent.

I heard it does 1/3 or listed damage, is this accurate?
I second the Summoning hybrid though. It'll take you a bit to kill things later on so at least you'll have something to tank for you while you're at it.

Hmm is that damage having all synergies listed
and i think more then anything i should max hurricane...
then tornadoe... hmm

is 20 in grizzly worth it? i mean i want someone to stand in front of me, what do the spirit wolves synergize for grizzly? i thought it was defence not sure though
OHH and one other question, i want to know if making a druid with max twister & syns would be good? I like the thought of stun added on to it.

Dire Wolf synergizes life.
And Twister's stun is pathetic.
Theres plenty of calcs out there for calculating skills (with synergys)

You could increase this up to total of +35 by swapping
Jalal with Pelt 3os with +2 druid skills +3 artic blast put delirum in it.(5)
Swapping Mara with +3 magic amulet
Swapping Hoto+Spirit with EarthShifter (7)
So honestly the highest possible would be.. with +35
Level: 55 artic blast 3620-3874 per second (with synergys)
if ven is correct with 1/4 dmg you will do ~905-968 damage a secound.
If something has 50% cold res you will do ~226-242 damage a secound.
~42 secounds to kill one monster with 10k hp and 50% cold res.
~10 secounds to kill one monster with 10k hp and 0% cold res.
Get a merc with looooooads of '5 cold facets ^^
And maybe infinity? Like 3 sox helm 3x'5 facets, armor 4x'5 facets, and infinity.

If you're going for coolness factor, put a point in Spirit of the Barbs, too, and run that as your primary spirit. :cool:
Anyway, I seriously doubt you'll be able to do much of anything in Hell, but if you're fine with that, then best of luck, and have fun with your build!

No, it's because Arctic Blast is bugged. Inferno is likewise bugged, but Firestorm works just fine (as do Firewall, Meteor, Immo Arrow, and anything else that deals damage over time). For that matter, Wake of Inferno likewise operates as intended (it does not suffer from the Inferno bug, despite the fact that you'd think it would).
The technical explanation that I got is that Inferno/Arctic are actually composed of several side-by-side streams that each deal a fraction of the damage, but for some reason you'll only ever hit with one stream at a time (instead of all at once, as the designers intended). The result is that you only deal a fraction of the damage (either 1/2 or 1/3rd, I forget which).

Why put facets on your merc? Are you planning on getting a Merc that deals cold damage, too?
