Rare Jewel Elemental Damage Mods?

Are these stackable? Like the 1-9X lightning and the 24-45ish fire on the same jewel, or are the considered part of the same sub type(like resist for example)

I still haven't seen any rare jewels in the rare items brag thread. I suppose they are only usful for LLD purposes.

BTW elemental damage of different types are ALWAYS stackable, as are resists of different types.

I always thought that elemental damage on jewels had really high req level. So the duels must be at level 50 or so at least.

No, you can't find a rare jewel with dual elemental resist. Imagine a 30fire/30lightning resist jewel. They are classified from the same sub type, so once a mod is chosen it can't be chosen again.

Low level rare jewels can have multiple damage types, but I'm looking specifically for the higher end damage ones. And have yet to see one, so I am so far just assuming the different damages are in a pool and only one is chosen.

Has this changed in a patch or something? I thought I just had bad luck, because I KNOW that I've had rare jewels with something like 10/22/10/30 resists at times.

Perhaps you are confusing it with rings or amulets where the different elemental res affixes are in different groups.

All jewel single res affixes are in the same group, so there are no rares with two single res affixes. However, allres has its own group, so something like a rare 10/40/10/10 jewel is possible.

I believe I socketed a Tiamat's Rebuke or BStar with just such a jewel (not nearly perfect stats, but definitely more than one elemental damage mod). I'll see if I can get a screenie of it tonight.

According to the 2002 and early 2005 version of d2data (via www.archive.org), it was like that in 1.09 and 1.10 as well.

Yes! 100% certain you can get multiple elemental damage mods as I have have two such jewels on ladder.
