This question has been nagging me for a while.
Do you bother with killing Nihlathak?
I myself can't remember my last pat/mat/guardian that went after him.
Vote or find green breast plates.
No poll yet...
I've killed him with my wolfbarb a few times but that has been really the only time in any of my characters.
No poll yet...
Not so quick! Poll's there now.
It's even multiple choice. You can't fail! :)
Oh, and. Green? Congrats!
AJK should log on more often.
I kill him every time (I'm playing HC) and did kill him every time back in SC.
You know, I hate it to see that not all quests have been completed...yeah, call me neurotic:wink3:

LOL. I voted and then nearly got involved in a discussion about blood types
I never bother, whats the point? Last time I killed him I was looking for keys on bnet!
Also, this (http://img402.imageshack.us/my.php?image=strangeix4.png) happened after I voted, very strange.....
However, Nihlathak is a much faster source of 'Baal charms' than Baal himself so he could be worth running if you fancied doing some cubing.

Hmm. Blood! I got redirected there too.
Your point about lvl95 charms is a good one. I think I might have found a new hobby for my lightsorc. Too bad I already voted...
I always kill him. It starts off as a game of who can explode/hork corpses faster between him and my Barbarian, with the loser agreeing to having his arse kicked. He always ends up corkscrewing into the ground.

If I'm full clearing, yes. If I'm not full clearing, no.
I usually don' kill him but when I do it's because I want the reward for something really special (which don't happen very often).
I allways kill him... it's a matter of principle and warrior's honor
Can't remember the last time I paid him a visit.
Congrats on the getting the keys to the moderators' marble washroom and luxury lounge Aman. Keep those BNet 'sins in line.
I am quite a perfectionist so all my pats/mats have all quests and all waypoints in all 3 difficulties. This is in SC.
So far I have made only 2 guardians in HC, one of them killed him(a trapsin), the other didn't(a javazon). Generally - I will (try to) kill him with those characters who are capable of doing it safely.

I agree. It's just lazy not to kill him.
It is a quest so I feel obligated to do it. Doesn't feel like completing the game otherwise.

I paid him a visit with each of my characters the second TWD in norm and NM. That was at least three years ago. Other than that, nope. Pindle is too much of an item/XP whore to let him go away (I know, you need to get the WP too, but still).
Also, the time it takes to get him is just not worth it unless you're playing with some form of one-clear or full-clear rules.

Not worth it? Hmm, I feel bad if I don't complete all the quests. Worth it to me! lol.

To each their own. Quests are normally not worth it to me. I frequently skip quests that are not necessary for the completion of the act. Those that I do complete normally have some reward (Liam Essem's tomb, for example).

Well, I need a choice that says "Never", because I thought if you kill him you lose the portal to his place, and that's so handy when you're running in and out shopping. Am I wrong?

You lose the portal if you kill him AND get the waypoint. You need to do both to lose Nihl.

I must be a sucker for completeness.
(I actually don't bother with all the waypoints but for some reason I need to do those quests....)

I don't kill him, ever. Isn't worth it, and Pindle is too nice a target.
I voted "When SC, I do" because I've always killed him in SC. I'm one of those completionists that must do every quest and must get every waypoint.
I do have a Fishymancer in HC now who's doing Normal Baal runs at the moment. He did kill Nihlathak and will probably do so in NM and Hell as well. But Nihl's CE does scare me so if I ever try some of the more fragile builds in HC I may decide to skip him.
(since I voted, AJK's life will be void if I ever find a green breast plate again)

Very seldom do I take the time to kill him. If I do it's usually for a specific purpose...like I want the quest reward to personalize something.
Durflathak!
What else
No, never
I did kill him, a couple of times in my D2 career, but didn't kill him for ages. Maybe I should start again. It IS a quest :)
Yeah it's a bit stupid quest but at least it's not stupid like quests in some other RPGs:
I have a rat in my basement. Go kill him.

Here's a piece of paper. Throw it in the garbage.

I never kill him. It's so dark and dreary down there.
I think I'm "A" most of the time but if I've had some pops I tend to be a little flat.

He ties for the best chance in the game to drop a zod, and I always find at least 3 or 4 runes on the way to him. Frankly, if I were a runner, I'd run him over the countess.
