Quick question here...
I've read that Infinity isn't really worth it seeing as it doesn't break many immunities in hell. Would the -25% enemy fire resistance from Ravenlore "stack" with Infinity's Conviction aura to break more than just Fallen fire immunities? And if it does, would I have to wield it, or could I just give it to my merc? Thanks guys.
Edit: I just read what I wrote and it kinda bothered me. If for some reason you know the answer to this question, then by all means, please help me out. But, if you know where I could possibly find a chart or something that lists the resistances of Hell monsters, I'll do the calculations myself. Thanks again.
You would have to wear the helmet yourself and be hitting the monster wearing it. But it would "stack". Conviction would take the

With Infinity you have a level 12 Conviction. This equals -85% Resistance. When breaking an immunity at Hell difficulty Conviction only counts 1/5, meaning -85% Conviction only counts as -85% / 5 = -17%, which is hardly anything when they got around 140% Resistance already.
I don't know if -Enemy Resistance on gear has this penalty or not. But clearly Infinity is not the way to go. You'd probably be better off letting the mercenary do the cutting with a big buff, evil eBotD GPA or something. Perhaps if you have a Might merc, keep a fast 2H weaon or something on switch for some physical damage and Maul/Fury away with the 1 hard point in that skill (and +skills from items).

Ahhh... well, there goes my plan :P That link is still pretty helpful. I appreciate the help.
Also, I'm a little curious... Is your name from the black metal band?

The only things that can break fire immunities are Conviction and Lower Resist. Against immunities, they are both cut to 1/5 strength. Since most fire immunes are too strong to be removed with Infinity and Lower Resist charges, it's best to just get some other form of damage.

Nope, it's from a Danish cartoon called "Strid". I just love those cartoons, so I took the name years ago and it just stuck.
Anyone knows if -Enemy Resist (like on Ravenlore or Facets) works at 1/5 on immunes??
As said, only conviction and lower resists can break elemental immunities. They do stack with each other, but not with other gear that gives -res.

So the -res from other gear is applied AFTER the -res to check and see if the immunity is broken? What about things that AREN'T immune, just highly resistant? It does all stack in that case, correct? Since there's no immunity to break there?

-res works exactly the same way as a sorc's cold mastery. No effect on monsters with immunity but full effect if it's broken to a maximum of -100 resistance.

Exactly, which is why a PVM sorc should never EVER have over SL36-37 Cold mastery (around -200% after BO). This floors the resist of anything nonimmune.
Regarding the efficiency of Infinity, I was noting on Arreat's Bestiary that Cold Immunes seem to be the most unbreakable. Maybe that's because I was making a Cold Sorc and I was biased, but at that time I seem to recall seeing many monsters at 100-110 fire and light res in hell. I should take a closer look. =)
Anyway, I think Infinity is a must for any elemental build. Even if it doesn't break some/most immunes, it will hugely increase damage against the vulnerable ones.
