Well, proud to say the new wolf has been coming along quite nicely, and I have been taking a few chomps out of many hammerdins, windys, zealers, and other manner of opponent's legs. However, my biggest problem (as usual for most chars) has been high def barbs and the evil smiters. My problem, I believe, lies in my AR. With the faithful angelic combo, I hit an ar of 22k or so, which has served me perfectly in most duels, but I just can never seem to get that rabies bite off before I'm WWd or smited into oblivion. If anyone could share their typical gear set ups and possible strategies (if there are any) with me, I can hopefully begin to teach those cheeky smiters not to say "Go doggie" when they want to duel.

*Woof* in advance for your advice.

HOOWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dude try this out, ebotd zerk, demon limb enchant, and anglics 2 rings 1 amulet. That should get your ar really high.

Keep your death web and 20/20 sheild on switch. So you can rabies them and walk away.

Also, with Smiters only go for one or two bites at a time. Don't just nl and hope you hit. Take a few swings, walk away, and let him charge you so you can get a few more in. Once he's infected, walk away, shift Furying when he charges in.

yea just got finished dueling a few smiters. i couldnt touch the lvl 94 one, unfortunately, but i took out an 88 and an 86 a few times in a row. but ill go for the random bites, ive seen how careless smiters can get while having to chase you. got the ebotdz, but still need a limb. crappy exile...

many woofs for the advice.

What level are you? That can really affect how often you're hitting a high lvl Smiter.

vs barbs always walk, and keep summoning your oak sage on top of your self to force them to hit check it if they are wwing, shaft and attack here and there, usually facing AWAY from the person you are shift attacking - it will autolock and allow you easy access to walk away.

vs smiters, always run and stop to shift bite if they charge, again always shift bite away from them.

currently, the pup is 87, but i'm sick today, so i'm hoping for 89 or 90 by the end of the day :P does level difference make a difference on top of just the ratio between AR and defense/block? and thats a good idea, furocious, with the oak summoning. should i also have a pack of spirit wolves out before the duel starts, to help get that first bite off?

woof once again for the advice.

Level plays a large role in Chance to Hit.

Depends for the Wolves. I tend to have them out against the following:

Casters (especially FoHers)
Libbys
Ghostsins

I don't summon them against:

BvC
Smiters
V/T

Why? Because the last thing you need against them is to give them another chance to tap you. I've lost many duels because a Smiter charged my wolf and triggered LT on me.

yea im having to learn to play around life tap, as 99.9% of the smiters on east seem to have it, and no, they dont have other gloves or shields to switch to apparently *grrrr* guess everyone defines bm in their own way, but i just kinda say whats the point. however, against the 1% out there that doesnt tap, im doing decently. i just had an foher crying because i used wolves, which are apparently (according to him) the same as mobs, and therefor cheating. instead of answering, i just killed him again :P got the wolf up to 89 now, and i am noticing a big difference in my chance to hit.

*woof* again for all advice!

Never run away from a charging paladin, Walk away from them. Its because your block rate when running away will drop to 25% instead of your 75%.

from your info its sounded like you all ready knew this. But still its wiser to get it right the first time. So double check your info before posting it.
