When using rabies, the damage done each time it makes a check is based upon the highest +rabies damage on the infecting druid. This means that a 'flash switch' is possible, usually consisting of a Deaths Web and 20/20 Sheild, which boosts the damage of Rabies which is caused by a different weapon.

Now, my question is this. Is this re-calculation of damage unique to rabies? Or does it work for all poison based skills? My query directly relates to Poison dagger, but would extend to Poison Javelins, or even Venom.

Simply, are these skills calculated based upon what was equipped when they were 'cast'? Or the highest? Or even what you are wearing each time damage is applied?

As far as I'm concerned Rabies is unique in this way that the poison reapplies every few seconds (when it "spreads") this is also why rabies can kill another player instead of leaving them at 1 hp.

In other words: no I don't think you can boost its dmg by switching after stabbing them.
