does your merc mess up your magic find?

hi guys,

it's been a long while since i played diablo 2 and i just recently started again for fun and i just wanted to know if your merc gets the last hit on a boss; say mephisto. Does it screw up your chances of getting good items, or if the merc had mf on him also, does it add on to your total mf?

If you merc kills a monster, it uses the mf your character is wearing + the mf your merc is wearing for the final drop calculations.
