Zealasin Issuies!

OK this is 40 lvls after my last thread...

so i got my zealasin right to 65 and i have a few problems or issues about this build.. First gear:

Helm: Tals
Armor: 1400+ fort
Wep: Zerker passion 190ed (205 max damg)
Shield: Pheniox (355 ed worse roll ever)
Boots: Rare tri res boots 3ofrw
Ammy: Atmas
Glove: Crafted blood gloves (nothing speical)
Rings:dawrf and raven
Belt:Nos Coil

ok now as for gear, yes not the greatest, but i think everything is fine but possible found a use for a reg non class deleruim.. and i cant afford a CoA which probly be the best choice.... boots not sure about as are gloves( except if i foudn a nice +2 shadow 20ias)

i aslo didnt use treach b/c it keep negating my bust and for res and damg/def it was worth useing the Fort...

though +pheniox/Fort im doing a whopping 646-1986 damg with zeal

Ok skills:
Max Blade Shield (possibly biggest mistake ever)
Max Bust Of speed
5 into venom
8 shadow master
10 into prereqs
1 into Dstrike

now on skills, blade sheild unless im wrong after accully useing it is the worse none usable skill ever... the duration even max is horrible, the damg unless ur wep damg is 500+ might make it useable... is anyone knows a good way let me know, and with that made me blow 10 pts on prereqs, though having blade fury did help since i didnt have much offense...

Bust of Speed in the end dont think it was worth maxing just b/c after like lvl 10 starts just goin up +1pt for each..

Venom doesnt really seem that usefull only on paper for added damg.. but PvM dont think its a worthwhile skill maybe a 1 pt'er....

Shadow master nice to have around possibly the only one i should have maxed out of these....

NOW for the one skill i religously use though the whole lvls once i got it CLOAK of shadows, that came in handy ALOT, just from me doing frigid while waiting to keeping ppl alive against souls and other hordes of monsters... and only 1 pts...

And with 1 into Dstrike, wasnt worth it really i was never pumping out enough damg for it to be even that much usable and half the time i sat in the back and blade furied

Stats:
str:155
dex:155
Vit:50
Eng: nothing

and i have 20 pts left over... but with stats the same str for the damn monarch,dex for max block and to hit, rest into vit


Conclusion: im going to work on this build a tad bit more see if maxing venom gets me anywhere and see what happens in hell... but as for now my thoughts are just to rebuild find a 4os PB and max clock of shadows with other skills that can actual be helpful....

Well firstly, the only Helm I'd even think about using on a Passion wielding character is Guillaume's Face. Make the switch right away.

You could do well to make use of Tiger and Cobra Strike. Cobra to give yourself leech, Tiger to boost Berserk damage as well. You ARE using Berserk from time to time, aren't you??? Tiger Strike can either be maxed or just with 1 point. You decide.

Even though it's only PvM, I'd max Venom and prebuff it as high as possible. The more damage you deal per hit the better, and Venom can provide quite a big damage boost.

Highlord's Wrath Amulet. You don't need the CTC Amp on Atma's, you've got Berserk for PI's, remember? Another 20% IAS to help you get to the fastest Zeal/Berserk speed.

Gloves... I'd choose Laying of Hands myself. Or Bloodfist. But if your Crafted gloves are some godly +2 MA str/dex/resist/10%CB/20% IAS gloves then keep them. The +2 MA to boost Tiger and Cobra Strike a little more.

I know it's been done to death... but use Gore Riders. The melee mods on it are too good to pass up, and extra resists can be gotten from charms.

Nos' Coil is an OK belt, but something like Verdungos, SoE or Tgods would be better.

Death Sentry... You gotta be using Death Sentry every now and then, preferably as high level as possible. But then you have to get rid of Phoenix. Then you can use Stormshield, which means you'll stay alive in melee, and you'll get a nice huge overall damage boost from Death Sentry mopping up corpses. You can use Cobra Strike if you need some serious mana/life leech.



I'd suggest not switching to a Phade Blade. You'll do less damage per hit, and with a good BoS and Highlord's + 20% IAS gloves, you'll get similar speeds with a Berserker Axe or Scourge or Cryptic Sword, there will probably be no increase in speed at all.

On that note... the absolute best Passion for a character like this is in a Caduceus with +3 Zeal. Yep, it's WAAAAY better than a Berserker Axe. This can save you from the requisite +3 more all skills you need to get a 5 hit Zeal, and the extra 18% off-weapon ed and 30% AR make it FAR superior to a Berserker Axe anyway.

The ONLY character who should use a Passion Phase Blade is a dual Dream Sorceress, and only because the physical damage on it doesn't matter, and she needs the speed of a Phase Blade.


How about... make a Passion in a Legendary Mallet, using a Faith Rogue merc, and BoS to increase it's speed. With both Fanaticism and Burst of Speed in effect, I guarantee you'll reach the fastest Zeal and Berserk speed with minimal additional IAS. That way you get the huge damage of a Legendary Mallet, swinging at the fastest speed... what more could you want?

Well shes going to be canned, since the only thing that could help would have been the + zeal which only adds to #hits, damg wise i dont think its very viable in hell, i mean like i said i had fort+phenoix and lvl 5 venom and the damg i was pumping out wasnt going to get any higher... i used the best wep for the job i think... so the items are going to get spread around now...

the speed was fun and fast she was killing in nm but i tend to keep chars if they can do hell baal solo (not the throne but baal himself) well now that i think about maybe lvl 75 see what she can do then take her there....

Well you obviously didn't use the best weapon for the job then if you aren't killing as good as you hoped. Berserker Axe is not always the best weapon for a runeword, neither is a Phase Blade.

Like I said, a Legendary Mallet, when combined with Burst of Speed and Fanaticism from a Faith Rogue merc will swing as fast as other weapons, but it has a crapload more damage on it. I mean, 55.5 average base damage compared to a BA's 47.5, and it benefits from the 1.1% str/ed bonus being a Hammer-type weapon. That would be better than a Berserker Axe, easily.

OR, if you wanted to go with a Fade route, then a +3 Zeal staffmod Caduceus would still be better than a Berserker Axe, since it's faster, and you can make up the damage difference with +max damage charms, or Crushing Blow.

I thought you were delerious, but I just tried it and it works just fine. Weird stuff, man. But yeah, that would definitely alleviate some gear problems as far as not having to worry about + skills items.

well the only thing im alittle upset about was the blade shield and how worthless it was, and how maxed it first too, and disapponted.. so i need to remake her anyways but thanks for the info... well sounds like u got ur hands on a +3 zeal wep easy so maybe will do that
