is there something im doing wrong, am i just having a real bad luck streak?
makes me pull my hair out
and help, or HOPE would be greatly appreciated.. ty
You haven't found anything worth anything in around 5 mins, and that's the longest time that ever happened to you. You should consider yourself luckiest person in the world.
MF needs a lot patience, which I guess translates to "not for you".

I've always found that I come across more items with the less amount of 'mf.' My characters generally have only 25mf (from CoH), but then I don't do runs for mf, my main focus is experience. So maybe you are just trying to hard, and perhaps not enough patience?

my mf runs consist of 5 mins per run....
i burn through hell andy, meph, eldrich, pindle all day gaining slow exp atleast.. repeating and repeating but finding nothing nothing and some more, nothing..
do you really think my mf runs consist of 5 mins all together??
now patience, is what im running out of and believe me, ive had alot of it
ive heard to cut back in mf, to like 128% or what have you, but this doesnt make sense..
everywhere i have read, it says the more mf the better, so why cut back?
if anyone else can clairfy things for me, please, as to exactly what is what
thanks again

There is no truth to that IMO. If you can keep your killing speed with 498% mf, then by all means stick with it.
However, you might want to change tactics. Instead of running bosses, perhaps you could try full clears of level 85 areas like the pits, ancient tunnels, river of flame, wsk 2, 3, and the throne. Perhaps ending with Baal.
You might be hitting less super uniques, but the sheer number of monsters you'll be killing should make up for it.
Obviously you should be patient, but a change of scenery goes a long way towards alievating the boredom factor.
Higher MF means you will get more unique/set items, but it doesn't affect what item will be dropped. Due to our brain's selective memory, we tend to forget about 10 drops of Venom Ward or Isenhart's Case, and remember 1 drop of something valuable. If you don't believe me, spend 20 seconds after each 5-min run and write down all the unique/set items you get in that run. Do that for say 200 runs, and I guarantee that you'll surprised by the number of unique/set items you actual find, even though they may all be craps.

The chance that something nice drops from the higher TC's and also being sets/uniques is just small. MF has nothing to do with the TC picks. The game just happens to roll sets/uniques on lower TC's more often because those lower TC's are selected more often.
MF is nice and definately has its benefits, but luck is still the highest factor which determines if you find that nice elite item you're looking for.

2=-;5411626']The game just happens to roll sets/uniques on lower TC's more often because those lower TC's are selected more often. That's one of the reasons, but not the only one. The higher the ilvl/qlvl ratio is, the higher the chance for a unique item. From Pindleskin (mlvl 86 -> ilvl 86 items), 10% of your breast plates might be unique, but only 4% of your Hydra bows might be unique. I made up those numbers, but the principle is correct. A larger % of your low TC items will be unique and set than your high TC items.

As i usaslly state in all MF threads, is that the game is way to random, u can do all the calculations in the world, use more MF% does add to % of more Unique/Set items but its very small as stated... i been mfing from lvl 75 to recently 90.. and thats mephy every time and now i do WSK2-3 and Baal... and i have yet to find anything off of baal worth useing (but thats due to runewords/Dupes) the best thing i found was probly tals armor of of baals minions.. and the unque champ sword off of baal... mephy will be nice some days others nothing.....
so its just way to random to say it doesnt work or less does this or more does that... some ppl have bad streaks i would call it, like 70+ runs without a key and there supposed to be 1/12-1/10... so dont ge discouraged... i mean going from 2 shakos in 1 day to nothing for 2 weeks, it happens.... jus to random...
.. and the unque champ sword off of baal... Sorry for the OT, but is Doombringer really that nice? I've seen many people mentioning it as an excite find, I personally can't remember how many I've Charsi'ed or thrown/given away...

Im in the same boat actually.
I recently remade my Meteorb and with 450% MF, I am lucky to find any unique from Andy/Meph/Pindle/Eldritch in a few runs.
Previously, I found hordes of uniques, had 3-4 drop from Meph even, but now Im lucky to get like a Crushflange or Ghoulhides, through an entire run.
Quite inversly, on my 85% MF necro(stupid nigma -_-) I found 4 uniques from pits + WSK in a single run, though they were all crap, except the Wiz Spike =/
When I started MFing, I was really excited how much good items drop if you really just focus on MFing. I was able to get 5 new unique items per evening I haven't seen until then. Well after 2K Baal runs, ~12K Pindleruns and 12.5K Ancient Tunnels runs, there are only 4 unique/set items left to find and I am in a position, when if Shako drops, I say "bah 30th Shako"... nothing "good" dropped for me lately....
I think that kuafu's approach is good, I myself count only elite uniques/sets, not every S/U item...

Well im on a hunt, ive done probly a good 500+mephy runs and about 100+ baal runs now, i do clear wsk2-3 also ssince the first time i was like hey that sounds found, found war travs/giant skull and nothing since... but im on a mission to find a Griffs, and its pits/tunnels/wsk2-3 baal for me... but im not trading for one....
... when if Shako drops, I say "bah 30th Shako"...
See that's the problem of playing SP, for me I can at least say "Ha, another HR":wink3:
It's funny how selective our memory is. Even though I write down every unique/set I found from baal and the data shows that I've found quite a few items, I still feel like I'm not finding anything recently.
