Where do you find an alibaba?

You should be able to find one off of the NM bosses, but I'm not certain. I don't think the ilvl is high enough that they wouldn't drop it. But even if they can, I'd say running the hell bosses would be your best bet. You could also probably buy one on the forums if you have 5 or 6 pgems to spare.

And the D key drops from Hell difficulty Nihl, in the Halls of Vaught.

Although I do agree that you're better off running hell bosses so that you could get some nice stuff while waiting for an Ali Baba, strictly speaking, the best odds for it dropping, barring first kill bonuses, are from Nightmare Mephisto.

All of the Act Bosses in Nightmare and Hell can drop it.

You'll have better than a 1:3500 chance on any of them (Nightmare Mephisto being the best at 1:1350 or so depending on your MF and players in the game).

The Cow King in Nightmare and Hell can drop it, too, but your chances get worse- to about 1:5000 or so.

Apart from first kill drops from anybody but Andariel, bugged nightmare Andy has the best chance to drop one - 1 in 1372 with 0%MF in a 1 player game, followed by nightmare Meph - 1 in 1391.

If you have difficulties to get a Blade of Ali Baba, you are probably lacking a lot of other basic gear as well, so it would be a good idea to visit these two a few hundreds of times before proceeding to hell difficulty, as they are excellent at dropping a lot of other good gear. Of course, as soon as you can deal with hell Andy and Meph, you switch to there - they are only slightly worse at dropping a Blade of Ali Baba than their nightmare counterparts.

Another option would be collecting flawless gems to cube them up and sell them for the items you need. You will be far quicker with that because most people already have their mules full of the stuff you are looking for.
