Hi, I want to construct the fastest runner in the game.


First off, I want to put eliminate frenzy barbs, since they cant sustain their speed without monsters.
That being said, who is the fastest runner?

BoS assassins?

Are you asking for absolute fastest possible or just the fastest practical build?

Also, you can add the Vigor aura into the mix. Could be from the bow runeword, "Harmony," or from a paladin himself. Charge is pretty fast, if you consider that running (I forget if FR/W affects it, though). And if you're asking for the absolute fastest, do you mean alone, or can the character have help? (such as a paladin with a massively pimped-out Vigor aura standing nearby)

absolute fastest, i dont care about practicality!
id like fastest RUN speed. i dont consider charge running. =]

Still, paladin with as high level vigor as possible, or assasin with as high bos as possible, I don't know which will be able to reach the highers frw bonus, but if they have similar bonus on similar levels, I am thinking bos will reach higher due to better prebuffing potentials.

Stuff that with a light armor and massive FRW.
Remember that item frw has high diminishing returns, while skill frw doesnt, so even if a high level vigor/bos doesn't sound like much, it's alot more that the same amount of item frw.

The maximum possible speed, if you do not wish to include frenzy and feral rage, would be an Assassin:

40% FRW boots
20% FRW Mavs Belt
30% FRW Cats Eye
45% FRW Enigma (light armor) (+2 to skills)
30% FRW Circlet (+3 shadow skills as well)
2x SOJ's or BK's (+2 to skills)
CTA for BC (+1 to all skills)
Level 10 Vigor (Harmony, 36% skill FRW)
37 * 3% FRW small charms (111% FRW)
Torch (for +3 skills)
Anni (for +1 skills)
2x shadow claws on switch (+6 to shadow skills)
Level 38 Burst of Speed (67% skill FRW)


Total Item-based FRW = 276%
Total Skill-based FRW = 103%

Total Walk Speed = 12 yards
Total Run Speed = 14 yards


If you wanted to use 3 more 3% FRW small charms instead of the torch and anni, it wouldn't make a difference:


40% FRW boots

Edit: There's probably a finer point where you can sacrifice FRW gear to gain more +skills. Once item-based FRW reaches a certain point then it's generally better to get more skill-based FRW, as those do not suffer diminishing returns.

I once had a pure FRW'er (Ladder season 1 or 2). It was an Assassin with Harmony bow, and full FRW inventory, very similar to what Orphan described.

Yet, it was nothing compared with a Frenzy Barbarian's speed :grin:.

thanks to all for the inputsFrenzy barbs get up to around 20 yds/sec. I remember doing some calculations on it in 2005 or 2004. I've got some posts on it somewhere.
