i read somewhere that it was possible to take all the files off of the diablo CDs and put them on your hard drive to reduce lag from the disk reading. anyone have an idea to go about doing this?

It's the .MPQ files. Copy all the .mpq files that are on your LOD cd into your Diablo 2 install folder. There will be some .mpq files in the install folder on your computer already, but you need all of them off the cd, some aren't copied to your computer during the install process.

Once that's done your computer will spin up the cd once when you turn the game on, to check that the cd is in the drive, and then it wont need anything from the cd again.

HP, are you actively playing now??? Or just sitting with bot in channel? Messaged you a few times to no avail... I miss teh Canadian Bacon.

I'm still playing a lot of SP.

Sometimes I put the bot into the channel to see if anyone is there/what's up. Usually I find the place empty, sometimes I forget to log it out after, and forget to check it. Sorry for not responding.

Sorry guys, I wont be back on b.net... probably ever. I've got so much stuff horded in ATMA now, and I just love being able to play for 5 minutes and then bugger off. I'd always get sucked into playing for hours on b.net.
