Hey peeps out there.
Im about to restart d2lod.. have had a break for about 2years, and now i considered to start palying again. Ive played d2lod for round 4 years i guess, and quitted somewhere in ladder season 1 to play WoW :P

Well.. back to the main issue.. To get started i would like to reexperience the cold (hopefully frostorb?!) sorc, but are they still as "powerfull" for MF as they were?
If/if not, which sorc builds are best for MF atm in ladder 3?

Best reguards,
Gertz

If you like using frozen orb, use the meteorb build. You may or may not be familiar with this type of sorc.

Here's a guide:

You should collect all flawless gems and cube them up into perfect gems. You can actually use these to trade for stuff.

You have really two choices when it comes to frost only type sorceresses.

ES/Orb
Blizzorb

Both of which are highly powerful, and one is quite defensive/effecient at running without using much mana. The ES/Orb build is my favorite because it gives you ample amounts of energy to play with, since your life force is effectively changed from health to mana, meaning you pump mana instead of health.

20 Frozen Orb
20 Ice Bolt
20 Telekinesis
20 Energy Shield

and the rest into Cold Mastery

After being able to run mephisto on nightmare/hell, start collecting items of worth, like HoZ and Shakos and other high ticket items that can drop off of Mephisto. Then, start crafting your armor out, or just outright trade for it. There is still much debate on if the occulus or HOTO is better for magic find, and personally I like them both for different reasons.

The items are still (not 100% tho) like they where when i stopped... but some things are new.. could one of u be kind to explain me how/what "rerolling items" is? i figure its something with getting new stats on same items due cubing.. :P ?! and i forgot about how to "upgrade" uniqs... ive been browsing the forums for a few hours now, but i guess im too blind to find any guides..:P hehe

But thx to u too, Hymn :)

Some blue items can have their stats rerolled, and if your characters level is high enough the modifiers can be the same ilvl as the monster it dropped off of. For instance, you get a hell baal grand charm, which has an ilvl of 99, the highest in the game. It has the possibility to spawn ANY charm mod in the game, without having to continually find a new ilvl 99 charm.

and ilvl 99 includes the illustrious...

+1 to skill tree
+45 life

Regarding the grand charm example... 3 Perfect gems+grand charm in the horadric cube.

Actually you are only rerolling the shell.

You need to erase the runes in it then put back the runeword.

Yes many people today are rerolling rune words.

I myself have a bad problem with it.

Rolled faith 13times or so in my gmb.
Rolled spirit in 4shields 61times.

But welcome to the forums and hope you enjoy ur stay:wave:

And dont be afraid to ask questions people are very helpful here and i second the idea of making a meteorb sorc. very powerful and able to run many bosses.
