Shield options for a PVM/MF sorc.

Im using Full tals.
using pure cold sorc.
Iv heard spirit is good.
is there anything else i should consider as a good shield?

A perf spirit gives u the 105 FCR BP. Other things would be sanctuary, faceted shield.

Yes, a 35% Spirit gives you the 105% BP IF you are using 20% FCR gloves and/or two 10% FCR rings. I think your best option is Magefists and a 35% Spirit. This leaves both of your ring slots open. After experiencing 105% FCR (primarily for teleport) for the first time, I will never go back to having less on a sorceress. So I would recommend that if you do not have a 35% Spirit to use whatever Spirit you can and also add in a 10% FCR ring.

Depends where you are MFing.

If you're doing Pindle (or on single player with a good Memphy map), lose the spirit and use Rhyme if you can still kill him quickly.

If you are teleporting around half the durance or wsk then keep the spirit for the fcr. (Personally I prefer 200fcr for teleing like that but that's tough to hit.)

The first column is the MF on your char, the second is the actual MF for unique items. The third one is just for reference, it shows how much the last 50% actually gave you.

As you can see diminishing returns affect MF quite a bit. Take a look at 200%MF vs 1000%MF. The MF on your gear increases by a factor of 5 (five!) while the actual MF doesn't even double.

This is something to keep in mind when balancing offensive gear vs MF gear. After all, your goal is to find the setup that gives you the most items, not the setup that gives you the most MF (and also not the setup that kills the fastest).
