Question about trading chipped/perf gems

Hi everyone, it's been like 4 years since I last played D2 and I was just wondering if ppl nowadays still accept gems for midlevel to high level uniques?

A lot of people in public trade games will sneer at your pgems, but if you shop around in the trade forums here you will often find guys who are more than willing to accept lots of pgems for almost anything. It's probably that the very costliest items are simply worth so many pgems that the trade would be too cumbersome to make, but I saw a very nice Arreat helm go for pgems just a couple days ago, for example.
