cd key banned

sorry if this has been asked already....
so i was playing and i got booted off, i thought it would be a temp ban...but it said my account has been closed. very dissapointed losing 85 sorc 72 pally 88 barb i tried making a new account, but my cd key was banned...now i was pissed. so i went to the store n baught a new diablo 2 lod installed it n it still says my cd key is banned. so my question is, do both the lod and regular diablo 2 cd keys get banned????

I'd say it is pretty obvious your Classic key got banned as well.

You do not get CD Keys banned for making games too fast my friend. Temp banned, but not account closed banned.

What kind of message are you getting?

Are you able to log in and the characters are simply not there. There would be a message to the effect of "You have been temporarily banned from blah, blah, blah..."?

Or when you attempt to log in a message pops up and says "Your account has been closed (X)...."?

If it is the latter you did break the TOU, the X tells you which one. At least 90% of the time it is 3PP related. If it is the former don't waste your money, it is only temporary.

Maphack and other programs like that are cheating.

That means your account just got banned for the use of third party programs (maphack or other cheats). Tough luck.

Despite what all the cute little nublets tell you - MH is detectable. Delete it off your computer, run multiple virus/spyware scans (you likely DL'd a keylogger/backdoor or something of the sort) and try again.

Nothing is undetectable. Cheating is wrong. That's pretty much all you need to know about that. :)
