Fendazon - some questions

Hi all,
I read this (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=460019) guide for melle amazon but still have some questions.

1. This is from the guide:
"Breath of the Dying" runeword - had to mention it. For PvM best put in a ethereal matriarchal pike (not spear! It won't be difficult to hit last fend breakpoint with its 60% IAS)
Simple question: why not to use matriarchal spear? It's faster than pike :shocked:

2. What merc to use?
- act2 merc with might - for damage boost
- act2 merc with holy freeze - to slow down enemies
- act1 merc with Wraith runeword - for the Decrepify curse against physical immune monsters (she won't die as act2 merc with Reapers Toll when doing chaos run)

3. Equip question
- weapon: BotD in eth matriarchal pike (thanks KremBanan, I love this weapon :grin: )
- armor: Duress or Fortitude? CB/FHR or pure damage?
- belt: Verdungos for the 15% damage reduction
- helm: Vampire Gaze for the 15% dmg reduction or Guillaume's Face? (CoA is probably the best option, unfortunately don't have :cry: ) Or Kira's?
- boots: Gores
- gloves: Draculs or LoH? If I'll have act1 merc with Wraith which has Life Tap on striking, will the Life Tap work on me too? If yes, than LoH looks better.
- amulet: Cat's Eye
- rings: 2x Raven

It's for PvM only, maybe will try ubers someday with her :thumbsup:

I had a spearazon. In my experience Atma amulet did wonders for me, it goes of fast and remove immunes ofc. This makes your gloves choice easy: LoH. I tried Highlords/Draculs combo, but I killed faster with Atma/LoH. Cats doesnt
do you any good in this build. Its either Highlords or Atma imo.
Fortitude was my armor and didnt regret it. You get insane damage with this build and if partying with a HoW druid and a Zealer, you will do 25k damage.
I used Verdungo belt and felt it was good. Could also use String for more life leech and dr (you will need some good life leech on this build!) I used Guillaumes, but its more of a boss-killing helm, but its a good choice. But a good Gaze might be a better choice here. For ring try get a rare life leech with resists and one Ravenfrost ofc.

For merc I tried a2might/pride, a2freeze/pride and a1 faith. I liked the a1 faith best, second came a2freeze/pride. Its ias/arboost vs damage and another tank beside you.

Keywords for this build is imo: Life leech, attack rating, resist. (Damage comes by itself when using forti/botd mp)

I need 120% IAS to reach 5fpa fend. It is 60% from BotD, 20% from LoH ... act1 merc with Faith is enough to reach it, right?

hehe it will be interesting to see how your spear ama will do against ubers. i am sure you will have to give up lots of max dmg charms for resist :p too bad there isnt any rw with salvation aura xD
