View Full Version : Javazon or Bowazon for cows?
Which Amazon build would you recommend is the best for cows? I'm going to do cows to find some good tradeable socketable items.
Javazon ftw. It's a tried and tested cow killer.

Javazon.
20 LF + any javelin + Razortail + a few points in Pierce and you have a very effective bovine killer.
Do you ever have problems with connection interrupted? I am starting to notice a lot of zons dropping games.
Also how much dex is required? (I have a set of titans, so would the dex required for them (108) enough for this build?)
if you only and only run cow, it realy doesn't matter that much. Get max block, rest in vit. Get some items with +mana after each skill.
Or if you are good at playing amazon, meaning you don't need life at all, not that hard in the cow level if have a good coming. Then go with max dex and manaleech items. Will work as lf is autohit, and you will do some nice phisical damage.
Just find one of those guides, and you will do fine in the cow level. It realy ain't that hard, I tried it once.

Yeah. My bowazon drops baal run games just by shooting so I was told to just stand there and look pretty.
It has something to do with the fix of the public dupe

yeah some attacks/spells seem to drop games more frequently now. i honestly dont know which was worse the lag caused by dupers or the disconnections you get simply by playing the game.
multi shot and fury in conjunction with a light emiting boss will disconnect nearly every time, especially if your torch goes off. i was hoping to make a spamazon after reading yossarian's post on the subjucet but i bet that it'll just c/i even in a single player game.
single player ftw :undecided:

Properly equipped (read: RazorTail), a LF Javazon can pretty much wade through cows like mad. I've also had excellent results cowing with Frostmaidens. Herd'em all up just like the Jav'ers and drop a couple FA's- instant Cowsicles. I let the Merc finish off the frozen cows for the added MF.
You can't lose either way, but the LF Javazon gets the nod if pure Cowing is your goal.

I don't have a problem with LF disconnecting my games when playing solo, but when I'm in a party, it happens, so I cut back on the number of javs I chuck out.
Don't frostmaidens need good equipment to be succesfull, while javazon only need titans revenge to mob cows down like there is no tomorrow. lf was created for this, mobing down huge mobs in open spaces, where fa is more a spell for group of monsters standing in a line.
Just what I'm thinking about it.

Don't frostmaidens need good equipment to be succesfull, Not necessarily. Just need a lot of Pierce to take full advantage of those FA. Although +skills and good gear certainly does help.

Oh no. I once got all the way past the Den of Evil quest in Hell with a Zephyr Bow I made in Act III Normal mode. It's all about +Skills. You WILL need good (real good) equipment once you hit Hell, but until then- heck, almost anything will suffice.
With 100% pierce (or as close to it as you can get), the splash from the FA's will consume all but the biggest crowds of Cows.
You kinda have to 'Herd' them correctly though. Two FA's should be able to either completely destroy or severely wound and freeze an entire gaggle of Cows (or other enemies :wink2: )
I get a kick out of turning an entire screen of cows blue with 3 or 4 FA's. It's even better if you have some sort of long duration poison damage. The damage happening from the poison will actually cause some of the frozen Cows to bust and shatter without you having to hit them at all. After they're all frozen, I usually switch over to MA to mop up the stragglers that didn't keel over from the FA's. Frostmaidens are a blast- you should try one if you haven't built one before. They are every bit as fun to play as a LF Jav'er.
The only drawback to me is the lack of a shield. I really miss the resists.
Frostmaidens also suck on mana like no tomorrow dont they?

They do, but mana leech helps. You can also fire a quick strafe volley to refill your mana bulb if need be.

Yea, they use Mana like crazy. . .but I've found that items that give +to mana after each kill, and mana leeching items usually keep the blue bubble full. Put it another way- You should be able to fix the mana draining problem with charms and maybe a ring or ammy (like the cresent moon).
Some guys will also just load up on mana leech and fire off a strafe or Multishot or two to refill the Mana. I've tried this and it works good- Mana is no problem.

They suck enough mana that it goes down faster than my insight merc can bring it back up......

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a Manald Heal ring.
I have one (WITH a Cresent Moon Ammy and a SOJ) on one of my best Frostmaidens.
They are easy to get and work great.
I think I said in another thread that I also like crafting a 'Caster' ring for frostmaidens, too. That kind of stuff isn't just for Sorcs and Necros.
