Ice Runeword

Folks:

This may be a stupid question that I think I already know the answer to but need to get some reassurance before I burn the runes.

I have the runes I need for the "ICE" runeword but have to choose between two bows. I have a 4 socket Diamond and a 4 socket Hydra. Given the high strength requirement on the Hydra, I'm thinking I should use the Diamond and put the points I save into Dexterity.

Do I have this right or is there a better way to go? Welcome any advice.

These best bow for the Ice runeword would be an amazon-specific type like a grand matron or matriarchal bow. The reasoning behind this is that the plus skills on the bow will up frozen arrow damage. This is of course if you're a frostmaiden, which is what I'm assuming since you are making an Ice. Otherwise I'm guessing you'll probably want to go with the faster of the two (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/elite/bows.shtml) since there's no wias provided by the runeword.

Yes. With a +3 Mat Bow you only need 50ias from other gear to hit a good break point. +3 Mat Bow (not GMB, just MB) is the best bow for Ice.
