Jewel's Question

Im looking for a jewel that im not even sure exist. I want one with enhanced damage and reduce damage. If this sort of jewel actually does exist what is the maximum of % you could have for both ( enhanced damage and damage reduced ) ??????

40% is the max for enhanced damage on jewels
0% is the max for damage reduce on jewels (i.e. it doesn't exist)

Maybe its a bit much but i was looking forward to it. Since it doesnt exist what do you guys sudgest i put into my Ik Armor. I want to socket my whole Ik Set. I just put a Jah & Ohm into my maul so it now has 250% ed and ignore's target's def. Since the Jewel doesnt exist i was thinking of putting a Ber into my armor and 2 more Ber's into my Ik Helm wich would give me a total of 24% Damage Reduce. Do you guys think its a good idea or should i put in something else.

for IK you should always put 2xshael or 2xed jewel to hit last ww bp (assuming your a ww barb)

what do you mean by last ww bp ???? and why sheal or ed ???? Isnt shael ias. ias doesnt affect ww as far as i know.

Off-weapon ias doesn't effect ww, unless I'm mistaken. IK maul needs an additional...30%ias to reach the final breakpoint. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Are their any sufixe's that do psn damage on jewel's. For example is their such thing as a jewel that does ( 40% ed and 100 psn damage over ? seconds ) and if their is whats the max psn damage you can get on one.

The only poison affix on jewels is "Envy", which gives 20 poison damage over 2 seconds.

on weapon ias only affects ww, and you need an extra 30 on IK maul so if you want more ed aswell, use 2x 15//40 jewels...
but you miss out on alot if you dont get the extrta ias.

wich do you guys think is better to put into an armor. Ber or 40ed/15ias jewel.Adding IAS in the armor won't affect your WW speed at all, since WW is only affected by on-weapon IAS. It would be much cheaper to put a plain 40 ED jewel in the armor if you really want the ED.

You are correct.

You need a -59 modified WSM to reech the last WW breakpoint for a 2 handed weapon (except swords?), which is calculated by WSM - [IAS on weapon]. Ogre Maul has a WSM of 10 and with 40 IAS on the IK maul already you get -30. So you need 30 IAS extra on the weapon to reach the last breakpoint.

Just socket the maul with shaels or ias jewels and the rest of the darn thing with Perfect Topazes and be done with it. If you are rich enough to throw away Jah and Ohm runes like that, there are much better ways to make a high damage WW barb.

If you really seek % damage reduction, yes at all cost put ber runes in armor and helm because its the only solution you have.


If you need more explanation about "Breakpoint" just let us know (or use the search engine) and we will try to explain to the best of our competence what it exactly is.

As many suggested the maul require 30%ias more to attack at fastest speed for WW.
