Grand Matron Bow

While doing Baal recently nice bow dropped: Grand Matron Bow with +1 to Bow and Crossbow skills. It spawned as a white/normal item, so it is socketable. I also found a magical version with +3 to b&c. It isn't on the elite bows list on AS. How good can it get? is there something better to make Ice or or Harmony?

Hi Hideo.

A grand matron bow is an ideal weapon to make Ice in (I can't really recommend Harmony past NM mode). The only problem is the number of sockets the weapon will get if you take it to Larzuk (5).

Using this quest always gives the max number of sockets (there's a list of what gets what sockets on the Arreat Summit website, if you don't already use it).

This creates a problem - while the GMB is ideal, they don't often drop with +3 skills and 4 sockets. For this reason, quite a premium is attached to them.
3-4HRs is a typical price, more if ed.

I have a (low) Ice bow to trade. It's made in a GMB and has +3 to skills. Feel free to PM me an offer.

GMB is a bit slow for ice, I personally think. Given that it has only +1, ice is a even worse idea. I would rather put faith (or harmony if you are broke) in it.

Yes, you can solo hell with harmony. It just takes slightly more skill, that's all.
