Hello all. As the topic says, it's my first time on Battlenet. I know it sounds stupid, but it's because when Diablo 2 was out, I was still a young kid who don't have the money, and my parents wouldn't let my purchase the game. I had to stick with Single Player(piracy. Illegal I know, but I'm not promoting it.:lipsrsealed: ).
Anyway, me and my friends were talking about Diablo 2 last week and there was a sudden urge in me and my friends to start playing together again. I bought the game from one of my friends and now I'm heavily addicted. We're currently playing in Asia. :grin:
I'm a CL/FO Sorcerress, currently level 86. I'm having ALOT of trouble getting through Hell, even Act I. I believe it's because of my weak items and the fact that I'm still new. Yeah. Lol. If there's any tips for me, please share because I'd really like to start mfing around. I feel as though I'm the worst level 86 out there.
Oh yeah, is there an Asia trading forum around? Or does anyone know a diablo 2 discussion forum with Asia trades?
And, if anyone who reads this happens to play in Asia too, and is a high level. Would you happen to have a 2s high defence grim shield you could spare me? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you. :)
There isn't an Asia trading forum, at least not a good one in English that I know of. Most of the English speaking players hang around in a chat channel called Diablo II Asia-USA-1.
It's always hard when you first start playing... I think it was like 2 months before I killed Baal the first time, and that was with a Skelemancer. It would be harder for Sorceress since she doesn't have 20 tanks to distract attention away from her.

Yeah I'm from Singapore. :) Don't think I'm playing in US cause all my real life friends are playing in Asia, but thanks for the offer. :)
No problems Rhexis. I've got some items that I'm about to Charsi so you may as well have them.
I don't have any 2os shields, but I do have some high defense armors (Atma's Wail, Corpsemourne etc.) and a Peasant Crown that you can have for free.
Tip - for socketed/socketable items, scavenge the leftover junk from cow games. Most things won't get picked up unless they're of the most desirable base (Monarch, Archon Plate, Berserker Axe etc) ;)

I looked through the cow level for almost an hour the other time, found a 2s grim shield with 91 defence. The max it could go was 151 so I thought 91 was crap, and threw it away. Lol.

Hi there,
Welcome to the forums.
For a sorceress to try and put on a corpsemourn will be a big headache because of the high strength requirement.
Phexis, my suggestion would be that you should try to advance to Act 3 as soon as possible. You can probably join a game or ask your friends to help you. A sorceress is very effective in doing what we call "meph runs." Mephisto can drop some nice mid-upper level items in the game. I have a lvl 87 meteor sorceress on USWest and I use her to do magic find (mf) runs killing only Mephisto.
Resistances are also quite important, try and bring them up then you won't die as easily in hell.

I've already completed hell. I tried doing some mfs in hell, but I can't even teleport to the stairs to reach level 3. The minute I get hit, I get knocked back and I die in 3 hits. Lol. I believe it's because my resistance sucks too. They're all negative. Waiting for my friend to find me a 2soc Grim Shield with high def so I can runeword it.
Right now I'm just playing around in nightmare, which is really boring. :grin:

Hi,
I give my meteor sorc a Moser's Blessed Circle (http://www.diabloii.net/items/uniques/armor-shields-excep.shtml) shield socketed with 2 perfect diamonds. This gives the shield +57 all resist plus decent block %.
If you get stunned a lot, then you need "x% faster recovery" charms. When I do meph runs and teleport around in level 2 looking for the entrance to level 3, I always sneak along the walls, it helps because sometimes the monsters don't notice you and also by sneaking along the walls, you don't teleport into a crowd of monsters.

WOw that's a nice shield with nice Resistance. Right now I'm using Viscerataunt Defender. Not sure what to do with it. I like it because it has the +1 to skill, but everything else sucks.
I want a 2soc grim shield so I can do a runeword. Forgot the name of it, but it's not rhyme. It has a decent MF, enchanced defence and +resistance too. My friend has the runes, so all I need is a high def shield. :grin:
Thank you for the tip on faster hit recovery. To be honest, I never knew what it meant!

You're a sorc; a slightly higher defense won't help you as much as you think. Just make the runeword in the next 2 socket grim shield you find and increase your survival rather than wait endlessly for a high defense 2 socket shield. :wink3:
Really? That just makes me mad cause I threw away that shield. Now my expectation of a 2 soc shield is at least 91. Lol.

If you were on USWest, many people could give you a hand. I don't like the Asia realm even though I am physically here, in Taiwan. Many Asians people play on USWest actually. People there are very friendly, I started a druid the other day, and someone in the game just gave me a bunch of free mid-level stuff, hehe.

You could also try and mf nm meph for some low-mid level items to get you going in Hell.

My friends aren't helping much cause they're all pretty much as lousy as me. I have one who is completely new at Diablo, another 1 who has a dozen characters, and another who is schooling so all of them can't help much. Lol. Lanceor just helped me a TON. Big thank you to him! Thanks man! I just finished several countess run. LOL!
I'll give USWest a thought though, thanks for the information. :) The people in Asia are okay too. I was being rushed and this 2 korean guys just gave me many unique items. :thumbsup:
I tried mfing in nightmare and to be honest, it really sucked. I have near around 270% MF and still can't find anything decent. Lol. But thanks to Lanceor, I can now have fun in hell! Although I haven't gave hell mephisto a try yet. Don't have enough resistance to go there yet! :(
u have to be patiant when mf'ing, there are easier places u can mf or find socketables such as the pits and on. meph i dont like sometimes as there is always that chance where the dolls kill ya :(
pits have a lot of easier end enemies even in hell that is a high lvl and can drop good uniques and socketables.

Alright, this isn't my first time on Bnet anymore. It's my second. Sorry for bumping an old topic!
Well, me and my friends, again, started talking about Diablo and Diablo 3, and again, the urge of playing got back and now we're about to start playing Diablo 2 again. I know the ladder has been reset but that's alright.
So, we're thinking of starting to play on US-West now. Anyone in the game? :)

Sorry to bump up my topic again, but would any one be kind enough to tell me how the Anderial and Mephisto MF bug work? I've been reading through the forums stickies but found nothing. Or is it forbidden for it to be talked about here?
Okay, I just went to google more and found out about Andariel's bug. How does Mephisto's one work then? I know this question has been asked a lot, but hey, I only played Bnet for 1 month. :P
