a while ago there used to be a bunch of threads/posts about the based spots to lvl. i cant seem to find it anywhere both on this site and in my room (i know i wrote it down somewhere). anyway i know it assumed that you were rushed and it started off something like:
1-12 harrogath
13-22 tombs
23-25 cows
26-35 baal
and after that i dont remember. if anyone knows what im talking about and could post it that would be great and really help me out alot
thanks

thehxc is right.. Most people do it that way ;)
I do:
1-7~8 Stony, Dark Woods, higher end Act 1 areas.
8-12~15 Sewers
15-20 Tomb
20-24 Cows
25 Ancients
All solo in 8 player games, of course - takes you ~30 minutes if you are quick.
So how this really happens? I just join to public games with my char and hang around to get levels or what? Sorry, I'm in drunk and dumb.

Uh, yeah. Join a game, don't party and stay in town - you'll hit 99 in no time -.-
Hahaha. Meant, I'll join the party with higher levels and go with them trying to avoid death, do I get XP?

Many folks do that. Solo in 8P > than party, experience wise. But yes one way would be to join a higher level if they are willing to kill - if that is the case CS/Ubers are probably better leeching/leveling areas for you.
Hmm... I was rushing my friend with 80+ char, he had 1+ char and he didn't get XP at all, even when following me near, why is that?

I find it hard to believe that he got nothing - negligible, perhaps.
Anywho the mechanics of experience go like this:
MonsterExp is set when the monster is spawned:
MonsterExp = BaseMonsterExp * (.5 + .5*#OfPlayersInGame).
The total amount of exp granted to a party when a monster is killed is set upon killing of the monster:
PartyExp = MonsterExp * (.65 + .35*#OfNearbyPartiedPlayers)
The PartyExp is then split among each nearby, partied player (PlayerShare) based on the relative clvls of the players:
PlayerShare = PartyExp * clvl / (sum of all nearby partied players clvls)
The PlayerShare is then modified multiplicatively based on the clvl/mlvl ratio, high clvl penalty, and +%EXP properties.
There is no bonus for making the kill yourself. It's a battle.net rumor.
*My .35 and .65 numbers are rounded. They are really like 89/256 and 167/256. The math is done as integer division withall properties are multipled by 256 until the last step where the 256 is divided out.
CLvl, MLvl, nearby partied players, monster exp all factor in. There is a difference between P8 and P2, as well as the difficulty and such.

You are a much high level character than him so you leech most of the experience given.
1-15 Tristram
15-20 Tomb
20-24
25 ancients
25 + baal
Go with this one.
