I can't believe i'm asking this but i cant remember, but is there a quest that adds like +all to stat points. I didnt think there was, but im happy to double check befroe i allocat points on my new char.

In act three you have to find a tome from a set of dungeons. I don't recall any other details but the reward is that you get 5 stat points.

Look for the Ruined Temple in the Kurast Bazaar (it's usually there, although I suppose it could be in Upper Kurast or the Kurast Causeway, as well), kill everything within, collect and deliver Lam Esen's Tome to Alkor.
