I found a 5 socket Hydra Bow the other day (damn...) and was going to bin it but then i thought...
Call To Arms
5 Socket Weapons
Amn + Ral + Mal + Ist + Ohm
+1 To All Skills
+40% Increased Attack Speed
+250-290% Enhanced Damage (varies)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
7% Life Stolen Per Hit
+2-6 To Battle Command (varies)*
+1-6 To Battle Orders (varies)*
+1-4 To Battle Cry (varies)*
Prevent Monster Heal
Replenish Life +12
30% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
It's probably a complete waste of runes but does the 40% ias have anything going for it on the bow? The ED looks nice...
You can BO in the heat of battle without a switch and BC if you need it...it's half-serious as i just want to find a use for the bow!

Horrible, horrible idea, if you need cta then put it in a decent bow, hydras requirements are just too high to ever consider.

use a superior mat or gmb no one wants em since they'll get 5 os.
You have to use Larzuk to socket a superior bow and he will give you 5 sockets. Very often (too often):rolleyes: when you roll a +3 Mat/GM in the cube you will get 5soc also. It seems to me that a good roll with CTA on a +3 Mat bow would make a pretty formitable weapon.

uh why making cta in bows when both faith and wf are much better
if you need BO just make a cta in one hand weapon and put it on weapon switch along with a +1-2 all skill shield.

Style _is_ worth a lot these days; that's the whole purpose of these newfangled Runewords. Take my CTA Phase Blade, for example. It's really fun whacking stuff in the Chaos Sanctuary with it when you're bored as hell.
Besides. Let's say, by some strange twist of fate, you roll a 6BO bow.
6BO Bow > 3/4 BO (average) + Lidless/Spirit.

can you shoot a flail at monsters across a room while im'd and have them die?
can you switch to cta flail vs a big boss and hit him so that pmh goes off?

you can always switch gear... cta/shield only for BO and if your BO lvl is high enough you wouldnt have to worry about re BOing for a few minutes... that should be enough to do a baal run

Why would you ever need to do that though? Switching gear doesn't take very long so you could bo and then switch back and attack them easily enough. In any case you shouldn't be bo-ing in the middle of an attack, you should kill off the monsters in the immediate area then bo. As for bosses it's not hard to carry a single poison charm to remove their healing.
Nice to see that the people who didn't read it properly went straight to ******* about how Lidless/CTAflail is better...WE ALL KNOW THAT!! And i even said myself its a silly idea and it is definately not the best alternative or use of runes...i just have the bow and was thinking of a use...as the constructive people helped to point out the style is cool and the ED etc would be nice to shoot at peeps when IM so yeah, for a laugh i might make it...knowing my luck i'll roll a +1 BO tho...

The post asked about useage for a bow...not whats better on switch for a BO buff combination and when i point that out to you you kick off about being serious...no...i'm being factual so how bout you chill out as your the one getting defensive eh?

Heheheh, i'd probably admit defeat n stick it on a Act 1 Rogue but i'd try n find a way...maybe a fanatic bow pala or something crazy!

Shadow is elite Long Bow isn't it? Was gonna make a 'Faith' in that as i had a 4 sok one.. OK then, i will bin the bow that has caused forum aggro (:tongue: ) as we have discovered it has no real practical use!

I'm popping in late, but I say go for it. CTA bows are sexy and stylish. I have .01 says you roll a 6 BO ^^.

Thx dude i'm glad someone gave me thier opinion on that situation as i thought i might have been a bit overwrough in my response but unfortunately due to the aggro i have binned the weapon not 45 minutes ago :cry:

I haven't taken anything seriously...i asked if it would be useful from others experience and after discussion found it would be a bit of a waste of high runes...they don't grow on trees ya'know ^^ so i didn't make it as i don't have hoardes of dupe runes like all the other cheaters...not because no one 'agreed' with me (it was info-finding discussion, not looking for agreement) so how about you read aswell before talking trash eh?!
