Ok, so people say that grief actually does more damage than an ebotd. How? I know I shouldnt be looking at on-screen damage, but my grief does way less than any other weapon I pair it with. Can someone help and clear this up for me?
Also, what are the best pvp weapons to pair? It seems Beastz and Griefz, or Beastz and Ebotdz to me, any other suggestions?

Add the +dmg mod on Grief to the base damage of the weapon. Now calculate the average damage of Grief using the new damage. Compare it to the average damage of EBotDZ.

Made simple:
It adds the damage from greif to BOTH min and max dmg
Ebotdz does.. 180-540 damage
Greifz does.. 24-71 +400 so its average damage is higher.
Hasnt this been done to death already......:banghead:

Basic point of all these posts: Grief damage isn't displayed properly in the Character Screen. Don't be fooled.

Im sorry if this has been discussed alot, I went about 5 pages in to the forums here to look and couldnt find one.
Spankeh, so your saying that Griefz does 424-471, and ebotd does only 180-540 before it hits the character screen and shows alot more. So when Grief says it only does 866-1493 on the char screen, it actually does way more? and my ebotd says 2135-5978, what does that mean?
I dont really study the game mechanics, so sorry if im coming off like a moron/ noob haha.

The way you look at it is like this. Whatever ED's you have for BotD also apply to grief, so divide your 2134-5978 by 180-540, then multiply by 424-471 (use the average when you are doing the math), and that's approximately your grief damage. (I know it is slightly off because of the elemental damages, but it's accurate enough.)
Another way:
Go to hell act 5 and clear it with your shiny new grief before asking more questions. Seeing how fast that baby kills is the best proof of its power.

How much does a good grief and a low greif go for. I have a hard time keeping up with the current "economies" since they always change.
I'm on USeast NL and I'm just curious since I might try to trade from one after seeing this thread. I'm using beastz and EBOTDZ on my barbarian..It sounds like if I had a grief I would be a much better killing machine :)
P.S. A guesstimate is fine. In sojs or organsets or HR's...whatever...

You should use the search function next time. Now you look new, so you likely didn't see the seach button when you went through this forum looking for the topic about grief, because you have to be logged in to use and see the seach function. Next time just log in and use the seach button at the top of this and every page in the forum.
Then, if you still can't find what you're looking for, make a new topic about it. Or try the newcomer forum for simple questions like this.
