I've been reading the forums and I have seen a lot of people suggest socketing an arreats with a 40ed/15ias jewel for PvP ww barbs. I was wondering why? The 15ias doesn't help the ww skill so why not use a jewel with 40% ed and +15 max damage or +10 min damage instead. How does the ias help a BvC barb? Thanks.

The jewels you suggest are bugged when placed in anything but a weapon, i.e. they don't enhance your damage as much as they should.

I would have to guess that the 40ed/15ias is for when you use Guided with Widow.

If I recall correctly, ED/Max (or Min) jewels are bugged on armours.

With the extra 15%IAS, you can shoot widowmaker a frame higher which is invaluable in some matchups. (Hammerdin, ES sorc etc etc.)

Extra Widow frame and an extra Berserk frame while under Golem slow.

Thanks. Didn't know the jewels were bugged and the exra speed for widowmaker makes sense. Appreciate the help.

well a 40/15 ias isnt bugged (im pretty sure) just the 40/15 max dmg ones are. I think what they were saying is that the 40 enhanced dmg doenst do as much 'enhancing of dmg' as you would think?

To be precise, any ed jewel with +min, +max, or +min AND max is bugged when used in a non-weapon item.
